Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo abandon Miiverse and integrate Twitter, Facebook and Vine immediately?

Didnt bother to read it but from a gamer's perspective Miiverse > Facebook and Twitter. All the content you share is to gamers alone not just random people. Integrating Facebook is ok but at the end of the day i dont want to befriend people i dont know to see my personal information just so we can share content and play games together. If they figure out a way to add a miiverse section or mini app shortcut to share content to facebook that would make more sense and would be splendid.

Since when do you need screenshots/videos to spread word of mouth?

For a moment, let me pretend that I am a Facebook user. I enjoy a particular Wii U game, so I update my Facebook status to "I am loving New Super Mario Bros. U". I don't need a screenshot or video for that. If someone asks me about the game, I can link to a Youtube video, because the internet is simple like that. And if I don't enjoy any Wii U game, I won't post about Wii U games on Facebook.

When you think about it (unlike the author of this article), the source of everything are games. Not applications.

It would be good if you could do all of that from the Wii U without having to use the browser though. It probably means people would be more likely to bother.

HELL to the bloody NO!!!

And proud member of the Mega Mario Movement!

No. Miiverse is fucking awesome. Thought adding the capability to share your miiverse posts via FB/TW would be a great enhancement. So adding FB/TW integration would be a very smart move, including apps built into the system itself.

I like Miiverse. I don't want to post screenshots to random people who will just bash Wii U. The potential of MS/SONY fanbase bashing the Wii U and countering NSMBU screenshots with Killzone or Forza screenshots is high. At least on Miiverse everyone is on the same boat- Just enjoying Wii U.

I think that's a terrible, TERRIBLE idea. The reason Miiverse is awesome is because it's NOT connected to all that other crap. It's a completely separate service, meaning that I won't get a flood of unwanted video game content on my Facebook, and when I want to talk games I won't get a bunch of pictures of cats. People who own Wii U's have made it clear that Miiverse is one of the outstanding features of the system, and what the author is proposing is completely flushing that down the toilet. The service is always improving, too; it's come leagues just since its launch half a year ago.

I think this is an example of Nintendo going against the grain and scoring. The obvious thing to do would have been to integrate Facebook/Twitter, but they did their own thing and in my opinion it turned out way better.

"Nintendo has promised to launch some form of mobile app for Miiverse, which has the potential to solve some of these issues. If it’s a read-only service similar to the browser-based incarnation, however (users can’t post anything new through this portal) it will be an opportunity wasted."

This shows just how well the author did their research, considering you absolutely can make posts from the browser version. They only require you to create the account from a Wii U system so as to keep the trolls at bay.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

A wiser idea would be to integrate those in miiverse.

But then again, booting up the wii u and seeing the stream of other people's breakfast and posts asking for likes to save an african child life is just depressing.

As Superchuck said - It'd be dumb to lose one of WiiU's best features but FB/TW intergration would be wise and welcomed.

@bold. Genius.

@OP. I agree with Superchunk. Miiverse serves its purpose as a proprietary product community, and it could make good leverage by allowing Miiverse posts to get instant re-post on other social networks (I already have this kind of integration between twitter and FB I believe those interfaces are simple and open).
