That's where I think all the comparisons with Overstrike stand out. If they had gone with a more original setting; a more goofy premise, I think they'd be alright. They clearly have a workable TPS base, they needed to expand on that to make an interesting game, not a "let's play it safe" title. I wonder if it'll outsell Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel. |
me too. i wasn't excited about overstrike but it was at least moderatly interesting. the new setting is at least 10x more generic and soo much more like everything else on the market.
i just don't know about insomniac anymore. when all they were doing was R&C i put them among my favorite developers. that series is just so outstanding. but then resistance (the first one) came along and i gave insomniac the benefit of the doubt but just couldn't get into the game. just not enough character to the game. ..and it couldn't just be me because even will the full weight of sony's marketing it still couldn't do very well at market.
then R&C all 4 one was terrible. i haven't played full frontal assult yet but it didn't review well. now this.
i'm curious to see what they are doing for MS if rumors are true but at this point i can't imagine it being good unless MS has some serious creative input. i've just lost all faith in insomniac now.
