Wifi is horrible for gaming and media sharing. Wired is tried and true, and I would actually opt for wired over wifi any day. And you can upgrade the drive. It is, with the 60gb PS3, the best PS3s made.

As an owner of all three consoles, I wish my Wii had a network connection. I trust wifi this -- much.

Give me wired FTW!

Actually, Wi-fi is very reliable, and its a hell of alot easier then plugging in cords, and setting a network, and what not. Especially wireless-N, really its up to your internet connection now-a-days. I mean if your wanted to transfer an entire harddrives worth of material, then yes, wired would be better, but for songs, a few videos, its fine. And considering Wireless-G runs at 54mbps, its plenty fast for even the fastest internet connection.

So the arguement that wi-fi is horrible for gaming, completely false, I can host a 24 person server on Warhawk, with voice enabled on a 5mbps connection, thats plenty good, no lag, no problems.

I was an early adopter of wifi. And with wired, all you have to do is plug it in and go. Plus, after having 4 wifi routers quit broadcasting, the wired part still works. If you know of a way to get a wifi radio rebroadcasting, please let me know ... Based on that, I have a wifi DSL router right now, but I have the rest of my devices wired.

@ Dolla Dolla

As long as no baby seals are harmed, sweet.

I hope you get one. I bought a couple games off eBay - Motorstorm and Resistance and working on Uncharted. The demo was legit.

I saw a good deal tonight at Best Buy in Whitby Ontario by the 401...

319$ for an open box 40 gig PS3 (they had at least 6 of them out at that price!)

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

One word sums up this debate legacy. Cable connectivity is still the standard, and it has the position of legacy. Almost everyone who has access to high speed internet has the capacity to use a cable. On the other hand not everyone has wireless networks in their homes. You should support the majority and make accessing your online functionality fundamentally simple.

I am not saying that wireless is not the future. They are already well under way in developing wireless solutions that can actually use the electrical grid. That said right now not everyone has wireless or is inclined to have it. So the legacy device should be the standard, and if someone wants to go wireless they can go buy a solution. Until then nobody should have to jump through hoops to get online. Hell the 360 comes with over twenty feet of cord.

We should always be mindful of what people have and do not have, or in some instances cannot have. There are places where wireless solutions don't work, or where it is actually illegal to have wireless networks. Strange as it sounds the United States government actually provides free cable in some regions so electronic pollution does not interfere with radio astronomy. Hell try living a hundred meters from a cellular tower.

That is a fine deal nice to see some confirmation that confirms what I have told people for months. No Sony didn't sell their first shipment out. However you can actually get a PS3 cheaper then that. I think Gamestop is still running their PS3 special. You turn in your old PS2 with five games, and the PS3 costs you two hundred and fifty. They also have a similar offer for the 360 except the arcade cost you one hundred and fifty. Honestly I think anyone on the fence should consider trading in their old consoles they are depreciating fast. By this time next year those kind of deals will not be happening.

Uncharted is the truth. The animation in that game is unrivaled.

I hope I am successful in finding a 20gb, as well.

The demo was cool. I enjoyed it. Whether or not I will love the game is a different story. I'm still a fan of Mass Effect and that has my action. However, after playing it for a few weeks straight, I really needed a break.

I wish you were in ABQ - I am about to cancel my 60gb layaway and get some money back. It's still $499, but I was about to pay that just to get BC. Folks say it's unnecessary, but last night, as I slipped the PS3 into the PS2's spot, I was even more convinced that BC and the PS brand goes together. I was going to settle for a 40gb and now, I am satisfied. I didn't pay $500 for it - and I still get the BC I wanted. I'm happy.

I couldn't agree with you more. Wait, Gamestop still has that special? I know a Gamestop manager ... I'll ask him if they're still doing that promotion. If that's the case, I'd get one for downstairs ...

well, if someone found a 20gb and can send it to me, in France, I will be happy ^^

LOL ... I'll see what I can do. As long as you don't plug it in immediately, you know, with your different voltage settings - otherwise, you and your mic will be up in smoke!
