Well he's been working with Microsfot as his publisher for years. He doesn't know how these other places offer better opportunities. Here's what he should think about, the indies that aren't big enough to be noticed by publishers.

What will happen is that the "next Minecraft" will appear on the PS4 and not the Xbox one. You will start seeing success stories just like you do on the iOS Apstore.

He knows what he is. It is for a reason some people hide their profiles on this site. I am still curious why Somini is banned currently... But that's of course off-topic. Nothing to worry about, there are even worse users here.

That's one down.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

still enjoying every second, are we?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

A lot of MS threads recently in case you haven't noticed. Hard to miss them. I've never hidden my pro-Sony stance. I am critical of MS and their practices. I have good reasons and I explain myself as best I can. Sorry if it offends you.

Mojang received a big amount of George Washington's coming from Microsoft, and that didn't stop them to criticize their new politics.

Mojang is beyond rich and gives no fucks. They can afford to say whatever they want. Silva depends on MS to make a living.

And I don't doubt he's had a great experience with MS, but his is the exception rather than the rule. Microsoft doesn't give most indies the time of day, let alone bedroom developers like Silva.

Tequila Works and Undead Labs enjoyed their time with Microsoft too. The Behemoth also did. You do have a point with Mojang, though.

I think the problem is that Microsoft can be a great partner for indies when they're interested in snagging a game as an exclusive and publishing it themselves, but they don't care to make life easier for indies in general. Since they were the first ones to really push indies and downloadable games on consoles, people feel snubbed by that when Sony and Nintendo are doing so much to make their platforms more inviting.

I can agree here with you. Microsoft was sooo focused on gaming on the first four years of the 360, it's a shame to see the path they've taken after 2010. I keep thinking that the 360 was the most indie-friendly console out of the three, but yeah. They kinda want only the big games now, there's no place for true indie games anymore.
