Do you have a smart phone? If you do, don't you have a computer ( probably cheaper) for the extra stuff?
It's all about convinience and feeling good.

Well, I'm expecting Sony to come out with a party chat feature with the PS4.
I would be suprised if not; esp. with all the emphasys they are putting on the social aspect.
Sony make TVs and own the rights to major motion pictures. I don't know why they didn't do package deals and bundles pushing PS3's BR advantage. There must be drawbacks I'm not aware of (distribution/rights and royalties?) or else the margins were already too tight.
Down the road could 3D or 4k resolution packages be done with PS4 tech and new TVs? They need initial success and continued downward pressure on the yen to give them wiggle room for R & D and pricing. Maybe some of their internal studios could produce decent games tied to their movies amd vice versa? I've read that UC and others are in the works. We haven't seen many instances where both the movie and the game were successful but it is possible. The issue is quality.
They could help sell their paid subscription service with discounts on new movies and free older titles as well as the games.

To answer OP in order:
Pretty sure the PS4 has live streaming and group video for that as well. You can play a game, perhaps even watch a movie or do nothing, and have a friend or more video chat with you. Skype not needed, but I'm guessing PS4 will have skype but MS will have exclusivity on group calls with skype.
Each PS3 and each Vita has 1GB for game saves currently. I don't see a problem with them adding more storage that can handle different types of files. No need to partner with anyone, but I suppose they could.
PS4 will have the ability for multiple apps to run at once. Not sure what kind of OS/UI they will have, no one really is because they haven't revealed it in detail. I'd bet they made their UI more flexible and able to transform it as the generation goes on, similar to the 360. If the current UI is holding it back, they will made adjustments. Hopefully it is comparable to X1, though Snap features are probably out of the question, pause state on all running apps will be just as fine.
I'm not sure what Gaikai's capabilities will be in regards to cloud, but I have heard they hold some of the best patents. For games, I'm not sure if there is much difference between cloud processing and cloud streaming, either way the processing is done over the cloud. As the infrastructure expands, so will the capabilities, and that goes for both companies. We haven't seen anything yet outside of Gaikai streaming demos before the buy out.
I'll be honest, Kinect 2.0 is indeed very nice. Not sure I care about gestures, but if the voice commands are precise that will be very useful. Sony could implement voice commands if the PS4EYE has a mic on it still, but they would probably have to partner with one of the other big voice recognition companies and I'm not sure if voice was built in mind and therefore it might not deliver well if they try it. Thankfully controllers work just fine. The PS4EYE is an HD stereo camera and will have a lot of functions itself, it also expands what PS Move can do and other forms of recognition. Wonder what we will see happen this generation?
Sony has a lot of entertainment in their hold. Music and movies could be part of the upper tier of service subscriptions. Imagine an all in one package. PS Plus + Gaikai and everything involved with that + Music Unlimited + Video Unlimited back library streaming and new renting discounts + and more. Who needs TV right?
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I'll be cutting them off. I have Facebook and Twiiter.

This is a very good idea.
Sony is first to market with somewhat affordable 4K TV's. They could utilize PS4 to offer somesort of exclusive 4K content which is very hard to come by currently.
Some drawbacks is that you would need massive internet bandwidth to download and stream 4K, and that very few people will be able to enjoy this for the next 3-4 years as 4K TV penetration isn't expected to be very big. Current 4K TV technology doesn't even allow a normal 60hz refresh rate at 4K which is a huge drawback, especially when buying a 5000 dollar TV.

What are you talking about? Windows kernel is as good as any other OS for multitasking/threading...
|
Did you ever had an IT class ? Windows was the last one to do multitasking, BSD already had multiple people working on the same device simultaneously in the 80's.
It's no scoop, no matter what windows does, UNIX based OS already did 10 years before. Like this Aero shit (Already working on Linux based OS 5 years before. and better).

ROFL! Good for you if you went in an IT class 30 years ago.
First > NT KERNEL is based on Unix.
Second > We are not in the 80s anymore. You know Microsoft did a LOT of work on their kernel and it is not because 30 years ago, Windows kernel was shitty that it is still bad today.
Finally... Are you REALLY comparing AREO with the multitasking/multi-processing/multi-threading capabilities of the kernel? Really?
Anyone that thinks that Sony can't match or beat ms in none gaming features haven't been paying attention. One look at their experia line will clear done things up. Not to mention sony is a tech company at the core and own more media than anyone.
