Was this already posted? http://www.examiner.com/article/sony-dodges-ps4-used-game-questions-3

One of the smartest moves Sony could do right now is to keep quiet on the issue and keep an eye on the market, making the DRM scheme a removable option for a worst case scenario.

They wouldn't lose out if they did have a DRM function of some design similar to the Xbox ONE. It would make the playing field even. As wfz as has also said, the 3rd party gaming companies/studios are a massive factor here. A factor we often forget about. They are accountable for around %80 of all game sales on the ps3 and 360... The PS4 or Xbox ONE can not survive without them.

I think they'll do it... Still a chance they want the advantage of no DRM though.

Keep in mind, though Sony and MS depend greatly on 3rd parties, 3rd parties in return depend greatly on gamers. And gamers don't like DRM. In terms of business dependency, DRM is a loss.

Gamers and games rely on each other this early into a new gen. You're not going to buy a console with only 2-5 games as appose to one with 15-20. Especially if those games are the CoD's and GTA's. The WiiU is an example of this.

You really think that if Sony decide to not implement DRM on their console third parties will stop supporting them lol, no COD no GTA lol, to get a few millions back from second hand market they will drop the hundred of million they get from selling games on a Sony console

I didn't say that. I'm just saying third parties would have urged them to go down this route. Looking at the support MS is going too.... They're considering it for sure.

So people actually read what I said i underlined something else, is this some kind of digital content they are talking about or DRM. Game Stop would be one of the first companies to know so I was wondering about your all's thoughts. Instead of attacking me maybe you all can just discuss it.  If you think no, then just say no instead of being rude.

You really don't know? Non-gaming entertainment properties. Things that aren't gaming, and he is refering to digital content. So a PS+ subscription card is a non-gaming entertainment property. I'd wager any service Sony offers if they are pushing it to be available in retail stores, like if they wanted Music Unlimited to be seen at retail, etc. etc. etc.

DRM is Digital Rights Management, stuff put into place to prevent certain uses of digital products. You can't put that on a shelf and sell it.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

This leads to a question i asked previosly though.  Why would that be news?    Why would Game Stop say that when we already have digital cards at Game Stop.  What other digital items would they be selling at Game Stop?

They are just implying that Sony has digital entertainment services to sell at retail, like with PS+ cards. Probably Gaikai subs, Music Unlimited, and other entertainment services. This is nothing new and it almost seems like he just came up with that term to describe that on the spot. You are giving it way too much importance.

lol the air feels thick with anticipation for sony to confirm it

then xbox fans can rest a little easier

I agree that it feels like xbox fans want Sony to confirm it as well but this has never made sense to me. As a gamer, I wouldn't want something that would hurt the industry to be confirmed for another console. People shouldn't be "hoping" that anti-consumer practices such continue to spread instead of being squashed from the get go. I understand that people may have their favorite consoles and such but these fanboy allegiance have gone too far. Some people act like they are defending their country smh.

I guess that would make sense.

@everybody else, try and not to accuse everybody of having a hidden agenda about everything.

so excited to try and drag sony into this i see you forget to finish reading the statement.

its like the fifth thread i see them try to put sony in the same boat than microsoft.

lits like when people keep saying sony will try to add a monthly fee if people wants to play online cause if microsoft does it , why the hell should sony not do it !!! people say it since i am registered in vgchartz lol

lol, xbox fans have been repeating that one forever for sure.  especially among the more finacially interested fans on this site..  i was really glad when vita had free online.  i'm fairly sure ps4 won't either but i'm a bit less confident going into the ps4.  gaikai surely must be costly to run and a subscription service that isn't ps+ could be on the horizon.  hopefully that treat it like ps+ where it envelopes ever feature except online multiplayer but if sony where to change that policy it would be at the launch of the ps4.

nervously awaits confirmation of their plans.

Hmmm. being very coy with Sonys stance. We shall see.

With the rumor of MS handling used game trade ins in a economic way that makes sense, and with Sony being coy, one of the big 3 complaints of the Xbone might be erased (used games).

E3 will handle games (#2). Just got that pesky once-a-day internet check in flaw and were golden.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

loool, this has absolutely nothing to do with DRM.

Anyways I'm still unsure whether sony will do this or not. If they do, I honestly wouldn't be surprised, but if the ps4 has been confirmed that it doesn't require to be connected to the internet once day, how will they enforce it? Seeing as EA has abandoned the Wii U and Provided microsoft exclusives, it could very well be that microsoft are the only ones enforcing it, hence their "special" relationship.
