Not likely since Lost Worlds is the mainline game, and I can't recall them having ever made two main series games at the same time. If you like 2D platformers, there's always Mario & Rayman among others.


Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors were in development at the same time. So was EpII and Generations and a few other occasions as well. Another thing is the 2D sonic is not treated as a mainline/top project to SEGA... theres only one mainline to them. The only reason I would doubt a 2D is because multiple rumors are pointing towards a New Sonic Riders or another evolution of that( Sonic Riders was born from Sonic R). Outside of that one rumor nothing lowers the chances of it being a 2D sonic.



Ah, you are right. That would explain why the Adance and Rush games were not represented in Generations, what with them not being mainline games n all. I'm definitely hoping for the third game to be a 2D platformer rather than another Riders game, especially if it's Rush style! ^_^
