Meh. For me, I don't have a problem with another Donkey Kong game inherently, but the sheer number of 2D platformers in recent Nintendo memory (combined with the fact that the new Mario looks more similar to 2D Mario than any other 3D Mario title so far)...I would have preferred something else. I'm more than a little surprised Retro's working on it; after it's announcement was delayed for an entire year due to it not being ready at last E3, I was expecting something a bit more ambitious than another DKC...but oh well.

Assassins Creed, Batman, Scribblenaughts, Deus Ex, Just Dance and 2 Sonic games in between as well. Not bad at all.

And on a side note, some of the mini 3DS announcements were delightful. 

Don't forget that Iwata confirmed that Super Smash Bros, X and Bayonetta 2 are all released in 2014.

I'm gonna cry. I've been hyped for months to see a Galaxy-esque effort on the Wii U, was 100% sure that would happen after NSMB U was released. This is soooo disappointing :(

Anyways I guess it's not a bad game, but you get the disappointment. Here's the Wii U Direct trailer:
