I could about guarantee you that Microsoft is going to upset some Sony loyalists or Nintendo loyalists this year. Like a secret draft you have no clue what they are going to buy out from under the competition. Only that its probably going to be something you really wanted to see on your console. That part of the rumor is totally plausible. Hell if they were not to secure a handful of must have exclusives with strong name recognition this year that would be the real shocker.

The best rumor like the best prognostications are vague, and written cryptically. Thus they fit any eventuality, and are hard to disprove in hindsight. Best to ignore rumors that are not explicit. I rather not commend a rumor that is common sense. Had the supplier named specific franchises of companies. Hell had listed a specific genre especially an unexpected one I would take them more seriously.

I wonder if the killzone rumour will end up being true. Even if it is, killzone will sell millions because of all the hype .

I commend MS on not giving up in Japan. If they keep hitting that wall sooner or later they'll make it through.

If Microsoft wasn't buying all these Japanese games, they would not stand a change against the ps3. What your are forgetting Makingmusic is the fact lots of people outside of Japan also love JRPG and especially lots of Europeans. If you haven't got Japanese devs making games for you you will never stand a change even outside of Japan.

It's true that disney loves the Nintendo DS and the Wii, so if they have a say, I would count this as the most believable rumore of them all.

what you said about microsoft putting games on the ds to help build awareness of those series, to then put the next installments on the nexrt xbox is quite ingenious.

imagine if blue dragon became a huge seller on the ds. then when the release the next blue dragon game for xbox720 or whatever, it will be a somewhat established ip, and should get microsoft a fair bit of hype and sales.

i thought it was just as simple as microsoft chosing to support nintendos handheld because they felt sony was more of a competitor. but your idea is so smart.

God help me get a 360 if that happens.
