Ok so if I understand correctly

- You buy a game and need to install it on your console in order to play it then you need to activate it online to play without the disc.

- Every 24 hours you need to be online to validate the games that are in your console.

- You can play the same game with no charges on multiple accounts as long as all these accounts are on the same console.

- You can take you game and play it on a friend's Xone no problem, the gamme will need to be installed too but will need an activation if you want to play without the disc in the tray.  don't sign into your friend's console with your Live account.

- If you remove the disc from sign out of your friend's console the Xone, via Live, will recognize this game as already tied to another account and will ask to activate it to play it even if the game is already installed in. Activation costs may vary from full price to publisher's discounts.

Ok so it's a bit complicated but not that complicated in the end... people need to calm down.

In order to play a game you have to connect to the internet to activate it right? What about countries that do not have access to Xbox Live. For me the Xbox 1 would be an overgrown paperweight. Xbox Live availability.

Since this obviously doesn't apply to you, why do you care?

A new games console doesn't apply to a consumer?

This post comes off as complete lack of understanding.

Hmm, pie.

I know that you need to sign in with your account to play at your friend's but I thought that you needed the disc in order to play...

I don't think you need the disc in order to play, otherwise what have mandatory installs?

Its also funny that if more than one person plays the console on your home (like a brother) and you have different account, you have to buy the same game twice if you both want to play it.

Microsoft: Welcome to the next generation of nickle and dime.

I doubt it will work that way. There was another thread floating around here confirming that all 'sub' accounts on the same physical console are granted the features and functionality of Xbox Live, if the 'main' account on the physical console is the only account that holds a subscription. I assume game sharing will work the same way.

"I can give that disc to somebody else - maybe my son who has his own Xbox One somewhere else in the house - and he can install and play it on his machine. I can come to your house with that disc, I can install it on your machine and we can play it and while I'm with you we can have all of the capabilities of that game.

"The moment I go home and notionally take that disc with me, you no longer have the ability to play that game. But the 'bits' are on your hard drive, so if you want to play that game you can buy it - you can go to the online store, buy it and it's instantly unlocked and playable on your machine. All of the privileges I just described in my house would now apply in yours as well."

As long as you have the physical disc which is tied in with your account.

Call me skeptic, but they arent mentioning something important here.

They say the game is tied to the account. Doesnt that mean that other people with the disc can only play it with the disc and my account login? I doubt they will be able to play on theirs. If you can play the game in any account aslong as you have the disc then its alright.

Bold is today's game model.  That would be awesome, but that is NOT what they are describing.  They are discribing linking your account to your license to play the game.  Having the disc or not would be irrelevant.

Then its what people are saying. Blocked games and your family members with a different account or friends cant play your games despite the disc.

That is a fan site, not an official Microsoft site. And they connect to Xbox Live by changing the region of the console to a country that has Xbox Live, in Romania Xbox Live is not available.

Well hopefully with the coming gen XBL will be available there for you without a workaround.  Are you using the workaround now?
