Forums - Sales - Microsoft You Muppets

Sorry Guys Its just got to be said.

Who on earth signed off on that abortion of a reveal.

I cannot think of a single redeeming feature.

I'm a 40 plus gamer. Ive gamed all my life. I own all three 7th gen consoles and the 360 was by far and away my favourite last gen.

So I settled down on the couch, chuckling at how the arrogant Sony had been brought low by their decades of dubious / disingenuous design decisions.

I was safe in the knowledge that Nintendo had taken a mis-step with the Wii U.

I had heard rumours of a subscription based sales model from Microsoft. I thought it was genius.

"You can't beat free" someone said and a fiscally holed below the waterline Sony wouldnt be able to match the offer, so the 8th gen looked in the bag.

Then it happened. THE REVEAL.

The idiots that brought you Windows Vista and Windows 8 obviously had too much time on their hands and produced.

The XBOX ONE (aka Utter dog dirt).

To Recap

=====================================================================

PROS -

It will be able to play next gen games with little or no graphical difference to the PS4.

Its got BluRay.

===============================================

CONS -

Essentially always requires an Internet Connection.

Its bigger than my printer FFS.

The TV functionality wont be available at launch outside of the US.

You can't swap games with your mates when your done with them, without paying a fee.

It comes with Kinnect 2.0 which will bump up the cost factor considerably.

=============================================================

The way I see it is that MS is absolutely obsessed about the Living Room. But their future vision is at odds with reality.

TV watched in my country has been falling year on year for the last decade or more. When you strip out the older gen who still exclusively watch TV and wont be here in 20 years (no offence) then a stark picture is painted.

Integrated Live TV is not required, it is redundant. So Why force it on people ?

Well I say they're forcing it on people but lucky old Europe will be able to yell "WATCH TV" at the top of their voices and be greeted with a blank screen.

Microsoft enough already. Come out at E3 and say "Fooled you". Show a system half the size. With optional Kinnect. With optional TV.

Slam this Car Crash into reverse before its too late.

Its a business mistake up there alongside New Coke.

As for me and the immediate effect. I have 7 gaming friends who console own.

5, including me have committed to buying a PS4 providing Sony dont decide to commit business suicide and restrict used game sales / lending to mates.

You screwed up massively Microsoft you utter bunch of cretins.

Microsoft have been very clear about their entertainment centre vision right from the start, no one should be too surprised by this reveal and their focus on non-gaming features and services, no one should be surprised that they put their decidedly largest and most important market (US) before others and no one should be surprised that they are implementing a very strict model around BC, online, used games and other features.

I do think that a lot of core 360 gamers will be turned off by a lot of things in the Xbox One, the chief among them being Kinect, forcing that on everyone is a big mistake.

Requiring an always-on internet connection is going to be a big turn-off for allot of people, it's stupid and un-necessary in a console, it's actually the main issue I have with the machine untill more details about the hardware come to light and people start hearing me whinge about how all 3 consoles are underpowered. :P

As for the TV functionality... Microsoft has always focused on the US primarily with most of it's products, the Zune hardly saw a release outside of the USA, the Xbox 360 got far more "extras" on the Apps side than any other territory, heck even Kinect didn't support the Australian "English" on launch.
So to me, it's kinda' expected something like that wouldn't be available world-wide, it's more or less the rule with the Xbox, rather than an exception.

more reason apple would go in the gaming business XD

Certainly an OP phrased like this is not going to be acceptable.

Locking now, sorting out moderation later.

I think part of the problem is going to be the TV services implementation outside of the US.

Europe is a collection of countries with different standards. Organising the TV guides is going to be a nightmare in itself.

Also some countries have systems which are integrated into the TV's. So No HDMI output means no way for the Xbox One to recieve the signal.

Its like they just didnt bother thinking it through.

2 things

i thought form factor wasnt important for console hw, as ive teached to hate how unecessarily small, low-pow WiiU is

I agree with everything you said

The GPU's should be the difference of 30 -50% higher frame rates on PS4 games, or better everything with the same frame rate. So the graphical difference may not quite be pro.

I have a very similar situation with friends. I am the only one of 5 guys that play all the time that has a PS3. After the event 3 of the other guys are saying it looks like we will be playing games on PS4 next gen, and one thinks EA games are XB0 exclusives. Sure, its only a sample of a small group of people, but it is something that these guys are talking that way, because they are hardcore Xbox. The best part is we are in Comcast country, and they all say the integration is pointless.

It seems like people actually are more interested in better playing better looking games, than more seamless TV.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter.
