Forums - Gaming - Mainstream Media loves the Xbox One - Are "hardcore" gamers becoming irrelevant?

Will the Xbox One be successful?

Yes 68 28.10%

Maybe 63 26.03%

No 111 45.87%

Total:242

It will be super successful as long as they don't give up on the casual gamer like Wii did. They should try to over do the apples and androids in their quest for the lowest common denominator. Everyone knows casuals have more money. I hope their is a cooking game for launch. Kinected Cooking.

It was a impressive console from a feature perspective. And no amount of "no gaemz" will change that.

Gamers have so much tunnel vision it can be sad. The media sees it from a feature standpoint. They know the games will come, that's inevitable. They are praising the Xbox for what it can do.

To assume no games will come in a consoles opening years is a ludicrous thought.

Its not about the lack of games, its about the strong anti consumer elements of the machine. But do keep trying to ignore those.

I have a internet connection, and I buy my games new. So they don't concern me.I also tend to focus on the positives.

Since when did gamers become humanitarians and care about people other then themselves?Please....

Must be nice to be so above the chaff right? Unfortunetly for me I like to bring fighting games over to my friends house so I won't be joining you on the amazing Xbox One ride.

It must suck to have to defend such obvious garbage so voraciously.

Yeah, lets just ignore all the anti-consumer bullcrap they are trying to pull. I can only hope it is all false or a giant misunderstanding cause it will start a nasty "shit on the consumers" trend.

Be so above the chaff? I represent the middle class, I ain't well off, but I get by. lol suddenly the internet is for rich folk, and is too fancy smancy for the average person. Stop pretending that you care about the problems of others (at least in a gaming sense).

lol just passing time until E3. Gotta argue about something I guess :P

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Chaff as in people who buy used or exchange games or live in areas that don't have perfect internet connection. But keep pretending that this is about some sony vs microsoft bullshit and not about a disgusting machine designed from the ground up to screw over consumers.

Why dont you wait till it launches and see.

Mainstream doesnt buy a 400-500 euro/dollar home console.

For people who dont know or dont care about games, yeah, im sure this was interesting.

Xbox One so far have the most interesting things for the next gen.
-15 exclusives, 8 new Ips
-A lag free and responsive Kinect that has an excellent voice recognition.
-Multi-tasking machine that can perform various tasks while gaming.
-It has ESPN people, my favorite app, soccer is my religion.

Everything else will be told at E3 so, info with no reliable source(MSFT) don't count for me.

Where in the universe is spreading your entire arms similar to pinching on a touchscreen device??!

That's why so many people bought an iPad right? And that's the same reason mainstram media seem to love the Xbox One, they don't view it as an gaming console but as a new multimedia gadget.

I highly doubt the audience that cares for things like interrupting TV with Skype calls, and hand-gesture controlled Internet Explorer is as large as some people think.
