Personally, those points don't bother me either. But they'll lose a big part of the market with the mandatory online, imo (not sure if it might happen with the PS4 as well).

How many people bought the 360, the Wii or the PS2 just to have a cheap console around that could be played any time and anywhere without internet connection (just plug into power source and tv and play)?.

I imagine there were a lot. Then again, more and more people have internet connection nowadays, but I still think Microsoft will lose more than they will gain with this move.

If Xbox One fails then MS will realize their decision to move away from gaming was wrong and we will see them try harder than ever to win back consumers. So expect lots of new games and exclusive stuff if sales fail to take off.

Eh...it's always best to wait until the system actually launches. There's no doubt many good and bad points we do not yet know about (namely the price), so let's not jump the gun!

However, right now some of these decisions do seem to be MS shooting themselves in the foot, and the worst thing is I can see Sony doing the exact same thing.
