Thoughts? I'm waiting for Sony to confirm they aren't doing this DRM crap.

They already have a online pass for MP and that will continue... single player insted will continue the same too.

No offense, but I'm waiting for Sony to confirm it, not  you.

I imagine Sony won't pull this crap. But I just want it confirmed.

Source? I honestly believe that Sony is going to follow suit as well because they want a good relationship with 3rd parties and while consumers are not happy with the used game situation for the XboXone, I guarantee you that 3rd parties are in love with it. They might not love it as the generation moves on, but for right now, if Sony doesn't do the same, 3rd parties could do the same to Sony that they are doing to Nintendo.

Source?

All first-party multiplayer games from Sony have online pass... Uncharted 3, Killzone 3, God of War: A, etc...

I mean a source that they aren't going to charge for used games, unless I read that wrong?

I'm still not sure. What happens if 3rd parties demand the same thing from Sony? Is Sony going to lose 3rd party support? No, financially it wouldn't make sense to launch your high budget game on one console alone. However, this may result in a lot less support. If on the other hand Sony falls for their demands, then no, Sony won't be the savior here, they will be in the exact same position as MS.

Will Nintendo be the savior? No because 3rd parties won't even support the system, thus making the people that won't get the PS4 and the XO not even consider the Wii U, because they are not interested in Nintendo 1st party games. They would most likely quit gaming or go to the PC.

If Sony does implement the same thing MS is doing, then we are looking at another video game crash, or at least a console video game crash.

lol I get it now.

Well in PS3 you need to pay fee to play the MP on used games... the SP is free for all.

Anyway what Sony said about used games...

"Do you want us to do that?"
--
"Yes. That's the general expectation by consumers," said Yoshida. "They purchase physical form, they want to use it everywhere, right? So that's my expectation."
--
"So, used games can play on PS4. How is that?"

Sony thinks too much about the consumer to do that. Even if they are on the fence they now know what to do. MS has never....ever thought about the gamer. I know Sony is under pressure from developers to fuck over the second hand market but its just way too soon and Sony and Nintendo know whats at stake. They said they would do right with by the gamers on this issue but at the same time they said they would do right by developers.

Sony can't win....PS4 is most powerful and the most powerful console never wins.

I was never a big Sony fanboy, but I loved my PS3. I would have considered a Xbox One, until I saw the conference. Microsoft really just sold me a PS4.

Even though I never buy second hand games, if sony implements this I'm not getting a PS4. And pretty much all my stuff is sony now.

They didn't follow them down the road of paid online. BELIEVE.

They incorporated online passes when MS didn't. DON'T BELIEVE.

But Microsoft has online multiplayer paywall. They don't need online passes. Having a double pay wall would be hilarious on Xbox One. Holy Crap.

What Sony needs to do is tell EA that they won't allow this on their system. If EA decides not to put their games on the PS4 then so be it. Good luck to EA at surviving on a single platform. The platform holder have the power here, not the publishers.

If Sony decides to cave and let publishers do it on their system as well, we as gamers need to react by NOT BUYING THESE GAMES.
