Fake.

Too much of that is obviously fake.

I will have my head handed to the mods about this, but...

This is #%&$^& too %&%*&* good to be $%^$%&&^ true!!!!! (x_x)

A) I have a very good feeling we'll be getting Mario Kart 8/U this year.

B) Even if not, I don't know that a new Sonic Racer would be ready in ONE YEAR, considering that they came out with the last Sonic & Sega racing game just last November. That game had over a two year development cycle. So unless a completely unrelated team is making it, I don't see how it could be ready in time.

C) I really didn't care for Sonic Riders, so I honestly hope it's not that. Honestly, if they were GOING to do such a game, it should be like Sonic & Sega All-Stars, with a cast of Sega (not just Sonic) characters, and a cast of Nintendo (not just Mario and DK) characters. IF it played well and wasn't rushed, THAT would be worth playing.

Sonic, Alex Kidd, Wonder Boy, Virtua Fighter, Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, etc. characters side by side with Mario, DK, Kirby, Metroid, Zelda, F-Zero, Star Fox, etc. characters

THAT sounds like a selling formula. IF they were actually going to do something like that, and IF this rumor has even a single shred of validity. If they make a GOOD Sega/Nintendo crossover racer, I'd buy it day one.

But that's a big "IF".

D) The idea of Bayonetta in Smash Bros. is absolutely awful. If SNAKE didn't honestly fit (Which he didn't), she sure as hell doesn't. Nintendo doesn't "own" Bayonetta, they are merely paying to have this game made as a Wii U exclusive. That's it. And that's nice and all, but that doesn't mean she deserves to be in Smash Bros. SB is, and should remain, 99% a celebration of Nintendo franchises. I would totally accept Sonic again (for the obvious Sonic vs. Mario), I would accept Pac-Man since he's an old school character and has been on Nintendo consoles in the past, classic (NOT X) Mega Man, Simon Belmont. Those would be good 3rd party inclusions. But like Sakurai said, the minute you start putting in too many 3rd party characters "just because", you really start diluting Smash Bros. as a whole. Bayonetta makes about as much sense as the dumb Goku rumor.

E) If this "partnership" works out, Sega should extend it beyond just three Sonic related games. They'd be smart to, and Nintendo would be smart to make that happen as well.

I dunno, maybe.

If a Sonic Racing game gets Nintendo characters, I'm assuming the similarities between this Sonic Racing game and Mario Kart will be as different as the similarities between Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games & Mario Party. This would be interesting to see, at least Nintendo is getting great support from SEGA.

Plus Bayonetta in Smash Bros 4. That makes a lot of sense since Bayonetta 2 is a Nintendo exclusive now. I hope the rumors of Goku are also true, but I don't want too many 3rd party characters in Smash Bros.

I hope Nintendo unveils this stuff soon, I'm really confused abouth their position at E3. Will they still debuts games at E3? or are we waiting for another Nintendo Direct?

IF Mario Kart can't be ready for Christmas, perhaps Nintendo went to Sega and started prepping a crossover game based on the Sonic Transformed engine with other Nintendo characters put into the game.

I could see that. Something like that probably could be rushed out in time for Christmas also.

Yes, but if it gets rushed, that also implies that they didn't spend enough time making it and polishing it, meaning that it likely would also wind up not be a very good game......

I just had a thought! What if this leads to having a F-zero game for the WiiU? Sega x Nintendo?? Hello??? O.o

With Mario Kart being playable at E3, I find it hard to believe it's not coming out for the holidays. Out of 3D Mario, Zelda, and Smash, Mario Kart takes by far the least amount of development time. Color me extremely suspicious about this supposed 'source'.

I definitely think the 'Mario Kart featuring Sonic' is a very real possibility, though.  It fits with Iwata's admission in January's Wii U Direct that they were actively seeking partnerships with third-party developers to help them make a sufficient number of titles for Wii U, since development is more expensive and takes longer than ever before.  Shin Megami X Fire Emblem was only the beginning.  Believe.
