Nah, we don't need that. Remove the cup and we have a deal.
Yup, I've suggested on another couple of forums that Nintendo should release a few sports sims to replace FIFA, Madden, Tiger Woods and Fight Night.
Going to be interesting to see what Konami are going to do with Pro Evo. After playing the demo of FIFA 13 the touchscreen isn't a good enough replacement for pointer controls using the Wii remote and nunchuck. I quite like to see them using hybrid controls - keep the remote and nunchuck for pointer controls and use the touchscreen input to change tactics, formations and substitutions without needing to pause the game. Has to be one of the most annoying things about playing football games in multiplayer mode both local and online - you have to wait every time someone makes some sort of time and you can see (in local multiplayer at least) what changes are being made.
Not a bad idea, but yeah, Konami's PES is also the better idea. But if one these happens, What would happen to Mario Strikers? Will they complement each other or kill off one another? That's my dilema... :/

Mario Strikers is not the same game as a football game, they can co-exist. And supporting PES sound like a better option.
Better yet they could make Mii Soccer, which would obviously be a realistic soccer game with Miis as the players. They could do the same for any sport really.
I'd give Konami usage of Mario characters as a bonus arcadey mode for Pro Evolution Soccer Wii U and ask Konami to throw in some other Wii U specific features.
Mario Strikers can go away. I'd much rather Next Level work on Punch-Out 3D! for 3DS and Luigi's Mansion 3 for Wii U.

Pro Evolution Soccer U
That sounds so...
I really need to get my head out of the... -_-'

Nintendo World Cup wasn't a game developed by Nintendo. It was developed by Technos, and it was ported to PC Engine and Genesis in Japan. It's part of the Kunio-Kun games (like River City Ransom and Dodgeball). Its japanese name doesn't have the word Nintendo.
Since not many people will remember Nintendo World Cup, it's better to make a new football IP.
@Einsam_Delphin: You just had like, the best idea ever! How cool it would be if Nintendo made sports games based on the Miis? A few games like soccer and NFL instead of the mini games, could really work!
On topic, NWC is one of the best and funniest games i ever played.
