Forums - Gaming - Favourite Setting

If you like steam punk I highly recommend that you check out Metro 2033 (well, or its sequel) if you haven't already. There may be a few bugs, but the atmosphere is excellent.

OT: I'm open to pretty much any setting as long as it's fairly immersive. Sci-fi (such as Star Wars, Halo and Mass effect) is probably my favorite though.

Around the Network

Magical/midevil

The entire world being set on the bodies of two long-dead titan gods with a sword connecting the two. The whole world is a massive set piece.

Rings of Halo. Massive, beautiful and awe-inspiring. That moment when you look up in the 2nd mission of Halo 1.

To this date nothing captures the sense of aloneness and adventure as much as Tallon IV.

Last but not least...

Because Pokemon. A concept done right.

Skytown, Metroid Prime 3

Rapture, Bioshock

Jungle, Killzone 3

Any setting that doesn't have invisible walls.

  Apocalypse

 Woods/Medieval

 Jungle/Rainforest

Old medieval villages at night. Always found them creepy

Some nice pics in here. Here's some of my favs

How could I forget Xenoblade!
