Wii's software numbers are more accurate than what 360 and PS3 could provide due to the availability of digital versions. That said software can be pretty inaccurate on the chartz too.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

There are more PS3 and Xbox 360 games in Norwegian stores than Wii games (both new and old ones). Does this mean that no one bought games on these systems? No. People claim that they never really bought that many games on the wii, and they also clam that casuals didn't buy more than a couple. It really surprises me if you have never seen anyone claim this.

I'm using the hardcore term since that is what they generally get's called. You probably realised what demographic I was talking about when you saw it, and that is what I'm aiming for.

what does ps3 or 360 games have to do with anything? you are going by shipped numbers. thatssilly. go to a store and count how many facings they have. probably a couple hundred. then realize each game probably has multiple copies. then realize there is a whole stock room of games that arent on the floor anymore. probably just as many on the floor.
as for the argument it has always been that nintendo games sell on nintendo systems.

"What does ps3 and 360 games have to do with anything?" The main point of the op is that I've heard many say that people never really bought games for Wii, people meening both gamers and casuals. And you say that there are many games on store shelves (which I agree with), but there are more PS3 and 360 games on the shelves, at least in my country. But I never see anyone saying that no one bough games for those platforms. And that is why I'm bringing up those platforms.
you have 100 + million of wii sport and wii sport resort you get with every console include in the software total, plus 29million of wii play sold with the controller, so the real ratio is probably a bit lower for games bought for the wii
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Ok. 7 games per system. Still a lot more than "just wii sports and wii fit." Also, wii sports really did sell at least 70 million systems alone if you ask me.

I don't think the wii got that fewer hours used compared to the hd twins, it's just an illusion because us forums dwellers have a hard time believing our moms and sisters are playing video games when they spent so much time telling us we are wasting time on video games and should go outside and play or get a job

And it should also be noted that third parties have had more success with publishing Wii software than PS3 and 360 software. Supporting the Wii has probably been the only thing keeping Sega afloat.
I'd say it's fair to assume that the average PS3 and 360 title needs to sell over 500K before making a profit and the average Wii title only needs to sell over 250K before making a profit.
Just have a look at the amount of PS3 and 360 titles that have sold less than 500K, some of you may be surprised.
And when you consider how prevalent piracy is for the platform an attach rate of more than 8 games per console is pretty impressive tbh.
