Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo gamers: Better Question, do you even care about third party games on Nintendo systems?

I do care for third party on Nintendo systems, but only if they're exclusive like No More Heroes or Zack and Wiki. I don't really care for multiplatforms because I can play them on PC (with superior graphics). One part of me does care but only for other people wanting third party. I want Nintendo platforms to be successful and third party to sell well.

I care if they're good. I get them on a Nintendo console if they're good. Sadly, Pezus is correct, Nintendo fans that care know that only a Nintendo console is not enough.

The Wii was the worst in that regard though, I got two (2!) third party games; GoldenEye and Resident Evil 4. Oh no, three, I got Red Steel 2 too because of the included Wii Remote Plus (and the bundle was only €15, which is cheaper than a stand-alone Plus). On GameCube I got quite a bunch, but still the minority. On N64 just over half of my games are third party, while on SNES and NES the clear majority is third party.

So, I care, and I get them if they're good. Good ones however, have been declining over the generations. On WiiU it looks to be better than on Wii, but as of now I only got one third party game of the three WiiU games I got.

I have more 3rd party games for my wii than 1st party games. I'll buy games regardless of the developer as long as the game is good

Yes? A good RE (REmake, 4,) and a good Assassins Creed (2)?
Maybe some others like Shattered Memories or the Okami Wii Version? Or do you mean for Wii U? Like ME3 or REvelations?

I don't care about third party games. I don't care about first party games.

I care about good games. /shrug

Only Final Fantasy.

I think its clear that most "Nintendo Gamers" care about having 3rd party games on their Nintendo system. The people that don't are those that have a Nintendo system but also have another system which they use for 3rd party products. I think it's a myth that Nintendo gamers don't want 3rd party products. If they are actually offered, they will buy them.

I do not actually really care that much. But then again, I bought a lot of third party games on the wii. Deadly Creatures, Mad world, Cursed Mountain, CoD, Goldeneye, etc. Although, that was just ...they were there so I bought them. I also got Monster Hunter Tri and Endless Ocean 2. I did not really play them much is the thing. Besides Goldeneye, but that was for nostalgic reasons mostly and multiplayer.

Mostly I just played the First party games. So do I really need third party games? No. But they are nice to have from time to time since they are so cheap after a while.

I think think that there's a lot of third party content I care about getting on Wiiu. But I don't care about Wiiu getting inferior versions of Durango and PS4 games.  I want to see the best of last gen coming over to wiiu like Dues Ex and ended up with the best version of the game on Wiiu. I care about exclusives like Sonic Lost World, Bayonetta 2 ect ect.  Basically any time the release on wiiu is the best version of the game i care but i don't care about next gen multiplats that skip the wiiu. That's not my vision for the console.  I will play those games on Durango.

Without 3rd parties, it'll take Nintendo a long time (2-3 years) to get enough worthwhile games out to make the system desirable.
