mario & Sonic karting will catch peoples eyes and wonder what it is. It will differentiate it from Mario Kart Wii. When people figure out you cant buy it for the Wii they will be forced to buy the WiiU. And there is your reason.

Mario Kart have pretty much always expanded though (sales wise), it seems like those who bought the previous games buy the new ones. Hard not to though, their awesome to have when friends are over.

People won't buy it if they don't know it is new.  MK Double Dash I think sold 7m.  They dont want that.  Thay want 10m+  and they wont achieve it if people dont buy the WiiU.  Seeing Sonic and Mario together will definitely catch people's eye though.

If it's just like in Smash bros. (the same game with sonic in it) it will be ok. But I'm not to sure if they start making a mix of the Sonic racing and the mario kart formula.

If it is even true, it will likely keep mario kart style racing as it is much more loved than Sonc Transformed.  Sonic Transformed didn't do the Diddy Kong Racing mechanics that well.  And the weapons was just horrible.

If this were to happen, which I doubt, I think this would just just be as a sort of thank you for Sega making Lost World exclusive to Wii U. Yes, Sega would demand royalties but these would be marginal; Sega would benefit because of improved Brand exposure; several million people(mainly kids) will be exposed to Sonic, who will buy Sonic games.

As the article above shows, Sega really wants exposure for Sonic. Sega's existence depends on the Blue Hedgehog remaining an icon.

Surely, this must be the way to do it: http://www.screwattack.com/news/sega-officially-licenses-sonic-hedgehog-porn-additional-revenue-0

Hahaha Sega have always done morally questionable things. Isn't it their gambling buisness that keeps them afloat.

Still, as a general nintendo fanboy who happens to enjoy the blue blur at his best, I have major respect for Sega. I mean I have very little respect for most corporations or mascots, but after reading about this

A guy put his fortune and life's work into a company. The porn is disturbing (if true, which seems to be the case after a quick google), but after reading the above you really wonder what people will do for their games...

Huh, I didn't know about this. Quite respectable of him. Neither did I know that they were the world third largest game maker.
