Correction, "Uncharted has taken over God of War as Sonys 2nd biggest franchise". No it hasn't. The God of War series is at 23.5+ million sold vs 17.5+ million and the biggest GoW is bigger than the biggest UC. Ratchet and Clank at 22.5+ million is the 3rd biggest Playstation franchise with Uncharted at 4th.

Im talking over this generation here. Using VGChartz figures of course...

Gran Turismo Series - 17.3 Million

Uncharted Series - 16.6 Million units

God of War Series - 12.92 Million units

Ratchet and Clank Series - 10.37 Million units

I'm neutral with them. I like God of War but that's about it. Shadow of the Colossus is in my top 5 favorite games of all time, so my respect for those who work on the game.

Nintendo and PC gamer

I think that I can safely say that although I think Sony has made many mistakes this generation, they did a decent job of making up for them and are continuing to do so.

I'm looking forward to testing my hypothesis that even-numbered Playstation consoles should not be missed.

Judging by what Sony has said about their first party, next gen they will only focus on the hot titles compared to the current gen. This will free up a lot of room for marketing and keeping strong entries.

Sorry but the Playstation 1 was unmissable. Its the best console ever in my opinion. It delivered the most innovation and loads of sucessful software across all genres. Playstation 2 doesnt hold a candle to it.

When did they say that?

That's all well and good, but I'm just not keen on the PS1/N64 era in general. I admit that there was plenty of pioneering done, but there are only a handful of games from that console generation that I'd care to revisit, mainly because so many have them have not aged particularly well. But for what it's worth, PlayStation easily had the best library of its generation and the PS2 did not disappoint.

When did they say that?

They said they will cut back on game development and stop launching games so vigerously. They will focus on increasing the quality of core game development and the market relations which should equate to larger sales. They will still launch a lot of games, they will just drop the unneeded weight because they realized what Microsoft did right even though they launched much fewer titles than they did.

Now I remember that. But that was a few years back. They're still pumping out new IPs and smaller, creative games.

They make very good hardware and I'm jealous of their Japanese 3rd party support. Kaz is a funny dude. I really like their startup sounds.

Though their in-house studios could use a little work. Especially in management. No game from the SoTC dudes this gen?

I feel that they are closer to Nintendo to Microsoft but for some reason Sony fans hate us too.

Like what they do, despise their fanbase.

EDIT: Fine, I dislike a certain portion of the base that pops into every Nintendo discussion to say something negative when I don't see other people doing that.

Do we talk scat in the Vita thread? And yet everyone seems to salivate over the WiiU threads. I still don't like you guys as a whole. A certain group ruins your image. Fix it from within or something don't promote this garbage. A lot of you are knowledgable and reasonable, but seriously, you let things go too far. I like Microsoft people more than you guys as a whole, even when I don't plan on ever getting an Xbox. Just by looking at the ban list it's apparent that there's a problem. Hell I'm still getting a PS3 by the end of the year, I'm not going to pretend I don't like them as a company and as a console maker, I just don't enjoy what a lot of you have to say. Like the Westboro baptist church.
