Forums - Nintendo - Has Nintendo Lost Touch With North America?

Nintendo lost their thunder in America because of the Xbox 360 but then again so did Sony.

Around the Network

Nintendo should probably cut the US out anyway, that is Microsoft/EA/Activision land; and American gamers seem to despise Japanese developed games and Japanese culture.

Seeing as how Europeans LOVE Japanese style games. Nintendo should focus on Japan and Europe, focusing their resources and efforts to acquire as much of a Japanese stronghold of developers as possible. That way they can easily dominate two markets.

Seeing as how Europeans like Japanese style games, and North Americans hate them, Nintendo should focus on Japan and Europe, and use their resources to acquire as many Japanese developers to their side as possible. Nintendo should work on bringing Square-Enix to be a Nintendo second party, along with Sega, Namco, and Capcom. With just those parties, they should be able to dominate 2 of the 3 major markets. Leave the American market to themselves, all they want to play are FPS and Sports games anyway.

Actually its majorly Americans buying Japanese games as well. You're right though, Americans like streamlined content like what Microsoft/EA/Activision give. Their heads seem to be in the same place.

How exactly do you come to these conclusions when Nintendo hardware and software have traditionally been stronger in North America than in Europe?  So far this trend has continued with the Wii U and 3DS.
