Forums - Gaming - New Trailer Heralds The Golden Age Of Piracy in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

The latest entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise takes place near the turn of the 18th century, during the so-called golden age of piracy. A new Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag trailer effectively sets the tone.

It's a heavily stylized affair, designed to quickly pull viewers into Black Flag's world. As such, it's a little light on gameplay specifics and in-game footage. We've dug deep into those in our earlier preview, which is a must-read for anyone interested in learning where the series is going.

The trailer also mentions a few notable names from the golden age of piracy, including Blackbeard, Calico Jack, Charles Vane, and Benjamin Hornigold. You may be more familiar with some of those men than others, but don't worry. We spoke with historian and piracy expert Colin Woodward about the foursome a while back, and you can read details on them (and much more) in our extensive interview.

Look for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on October 29.

I still haven't finished Brotherhood but hopefully some day in the future I will play Black Flag.

Not the most exciting video, but I am an AC fanboy. All they need to do is show me the difference between the PS3 and PS4 versions to decide if it is worth waiting or if I'll let Watch_Dogs be the only Ubi PS4 launch title for me

I really like the context and sceneries of this game. Might just be my first AC.

What happens if Pirates Pirate Pirate AC?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

100 years of forgiveness

I'm so sick of the Assassin's Creed franchise, and I'm disappointed in Ubisoft for taking the annual release route.

Still...effin' pirates! This might be the first Assassin's Creed game I buy since Brotherhood. The fact that it's coming for PS4 is even more of an incentive.

wheres Jack Sparrow. no sparrow no buy

What do you mean "worth waiting", aren't all versions being released at the same time pretty much?

PS4 launch won't be before November 1st, also the PC version is traditionally delayed
