That seems awfully agressive of nintendo. They make there own ips; I don't think they ever bought an ip.

ooh, risky move, Nintendo should make games that will sell well AND has good production value, FF IP probably won't sell that well, given it's adult-like content.

and when I say "sell well", I'm talking about multi-million sellers like Galaxy and TP, not NMH or Z&W

Selling Rare may have been the best decision Nintendo made during the whole Gamecube era.

I wouldn't be overly surprised. They have a buttload of money, and the reputation for not having many "mature" titles on their systems. Why not buy up a few IPs? Not saying they did, just that I wouldn't be too surprised.

At least they'd have a new genre they can add to their ranks.

Not as much because nintendo has bought developers before but never ips. I like there doing this however.

This would be pretty damn sweet if true--Nintendo really needs more non-cartoony, mature titles, and not just to lure in new gamers. I love Mario and Zelda but even though I'm a Ninty fan I needs mah gore once in a while.
