Forums - Sony - Can PS4 play Digital games?

im slightly confused as all around the web thee seems to be different people saying different things about this..

Can PS1, PS2, PS3 and PSN games be played on the PS4 if they are downloaded and not on CD/DVD/Blu? i was under the impression they wernt but people seem to think its just disk games that wont run..

ALSO did Sony say support was coming for this in the future?

Made specifically for PS4 yes. There is no BC, but the plan is to cloud stream games via Gaikai

Ps1 and 2 classics will most likely be playable. From what i read however people seem to doubt they'll be able to emulate the ps3.

It probably will, they are all on the playstation store so i don't see why not

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

I don't think it'll be too long even if they're not there at launch. I mean Vita can run a lot of them and it's a lot different than PS3.

No.

Well it would be stupid if games wouldn't be available on the store.

Though don't expect that you can run any of your PS3 PSN gaming content on your PS4. Even PS1 or PS2 games most likely won't work unless Sony specifically supports that.

I'm sure they could easily emulate PS1/PS2 content. PS3 content most likely GaiKai.
