If you really really want to see it just go to COMG's dailly ranking page.
3DS Friend Code: 0533 - 6146 - 0418

Good for SOA, finally making a couple points after going silent for a while.

Wonder how SAO will do compared to the PSP release last year. I'm hoping for a 100-150k opening but don't these kinds of games typically score high on COMG?
But Sword Art Online is basically absent from the ranking.
The one we are seeing is the LE, which is not good to draw conclusions upon when we want to forsee the salesfigures.

Also is your sig is from the end of the first chapter of Norwegian Wood isn't it? Great book, I wanted to get into Murakami and asked for it as a christmas present, read it all in about 3 or 4 days. You have great taste! @ Kresnik - Just to back up what I said, it has sold 53.8% of its sales just in the first week, though you're definitely right to say that DQ7 seems to be even more front-loaded with FW sales making up 67.5% of the current total, though of course it's had fewer weeks so in theory that should drop as time passes. What made me think DQM was so front-loaded (not that it isn't) was actually its YTDs - 928k in 6 months of 2012 but just 28k in the whole of 2013, a 97% drop. In retrospect that seems like a fairly standard JRPG pattern for DQM3D, I take it that proper mainline entries hold better? As for the daily, pretty slow except for DQM (ironically) |
Well is not as front loaded as others JRPG.
Lets see. Acording to MC Top 1000 for the year 2012,
| Game | Release Date | First Week | Sales up to Dec-2012 | FW/Total sales up to 2012 |
| DQM: Terry's Wonderland | 2012/05/31 | 513.183 | 919.870 | 56% |
| Dragon Quest X (Wii) | 2012/08/02 | 367.148 | 609.783 | 60% |
| Tales of Xillia 2 | 2012/11/01 | 364.439 | 428.913 | 85% |
| KH:DDD | 2012/03/28 | 213.579 | 338.812 | 63% |
| Bravely Default | 2012/10/11 | 141.529 | 283.693 | 50% |
| P4: The Golden | 2012/06/14 | 137.076 | 232.639 | 59% |
| Rune Factory 4 | 2012/07/18 | 85.955 | 173.119 | 50% |
| Final Fantasy XIII-2 | 2011 | 524.217 | 841.131 | 62% |
| Final Fantasy III (PSP) | 2012/09/20 | 44.872 | 89.644 | 50% |
| P3: Portable (Budget) | 2011/08/11 | 7176 | 109.832 | 6% |
| Pokemon Black/White | 2010/09/18 | 2.557.779 | 5.504.495 | 46% |
| Pokemno Black 2/White 2 | 2012/06/22 | 1.561.738 | 2.919.977 | 53% |
| Dragon Quest V (Budget) | 2010/03/4 | 8.188 | 170.576 | 5% |
| Tales of Vesperia (Budget) | 2012/08/02 | 7.738 | 47.473 | 16% |
| Dragon Quest VI (Budget) | 2011/03/02 | 2.499 | 104.127 | 2% |
| Dragon Quest IX (Budget) | 2010/03/04 | 40.797 | 253.523 | 16% |
I stopped at 300, and tried to check the last one to check if there were some really leggy ones but the translation was messed up. Then, it is definitely not an evergreen titles as others found in 3DS, but neither it is the most front loaded. Of course, we could do a more rigorous analisys, but I think this would be enough to at least conclude that.
And yup, Norwegian Wood was my first Murakami book, and that first chapter is just incredibly powerful.
Poor Harvest Moon.. I hate it when stuff like that happens. :(

One Vita owner visited COMG today. Excellent.
And don't worry. The Harvest Moon scoundrel felt so bad about what he did that he came back.
