Not sure what you mean by "rigging" a PC for it though? Not exactly a demanding game.

Just going through a VPN. Like nearly every social game, it blocks non-Japanese IPs. He's going through a VPN just to play this.

Actually Cristmas is a holiday for couples in Japan... New year eve is better for videogames.. with the alowance of newyear, the first week of the year is one of the biggest boost on sales in japan, almost as great as black friday in the US... look for numbers on VGCHartz..  even Vita got a great boost this year's.
