Nice find! Keep in mind that the baseline difference is partially due to this being from that year's summer, versus the low point of this year. But yeah, that chart is also just a lot more colorful than the charts are nowadays...

COMG baseline has been around 10 points for the whole year of 2018 no matter which season. Even in november/december.

Hence why I said partially. Right now the baseline is...5 points...which is pretty bad but it'll only get better for the rest of the year. I do notice a pretty heavy downward trend though. I sometimes wonder if COMG doesn't have long left. Maybe next year we see the actual bottom of the preorder charts? I wonder what would happen, would COMG start displaying the zero point games in alphabetical order or by release date?

Don't know how long you've been gone, but between the 2012 chart Bofferbrauer posted a bit ago and today, multiple stores have closed, and as of late, we're in the middle of the spring doldrums with literally nothing releasing physically for the next month+. The low point always happens around this time of year, but this year is especially low.

P5R has entered the charts.

Nice seeing Versus XIII again. Good times.

ahh ok then, yeah its at least been over 2 years since I followed the charts. Like I can understand that nothing big is releasing soon but even then the numbers seemed incredibly low. Having stores close down will definitely do that tho.

You also have to consider Japanese gaming trends. With the PSP and DS gone and the 3DS and Vita mostly gone, the closest thing to a portable console now is Switch, but in Japan it's selling only a little better than the Wii, so they're not treating it like a portable console. With the only other console being PS4, a traditional home console experience that Japan is trending away from, that hugely depresses sales for console software. Also, the trend from buying physical towards buying digital has only accelerated in the past 2 years, so that plays a pretty huge part. That's honestly probably the reason for the stores closing down.

Still figuring out navigation around the site.  Looks like pre-order data (USA) stops at end of 2018.  Can I get a link to a forum post which might explain the situation?
