I hope so, but I'm not holding my breath. Wouldn't surprise if they're saving it for the next console, which should be out by 2023 or something. I don't see they releasing the game late in the gen, like say 2021. They probably want this kind of game to release early (like it always did) to be a system seller and an evergreen title throughout the entire gen.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn Smash! Holy shit! What a jump! And we have no idea about digital yet, or bundles. Nintendo is going to be proud of this one, which means we'll be more likely to get official sales numbers with digital included. Looks like 1.5 million after digital is very possible, maybe even more. We'll have to wait for Media Create to be sure. I knew the ratio trends suggested we could get some crazy numbers, but to actually see it happen, it's still pretty nuts. Best selling game in Japan's non-Pokemon Nintendo history. Crazy. Smash is joining the big league.

Wow, I had my doubts but it actually looks like it will be the biggest opening for a Nintendo published game in Japan ever! Is it the first 1m+ FW opening for a nintendo game? (Pokemon is Gamefreak so does not count)
