Do you have numbers for fw? At least for dq8+9. I keep forgetting thm lol.

Dragon Quest IX (DS) - 2,319,000

Dragon Quest VIII (PS2) - 2,167,000

2m FW between split platforms would be a good start imo. Legs might not be as good. Especially if Switch version gets more coverage soon.

In that case,2millions+ first week for DQ11 would be fine!!

I'm gonna go ahead and confirm for myself that ARMS is gonna semi-flop in Japan.

How much is a semi flop? Nobody should expect a ltd of close to splatoon numbers. Hell not even a quarter is a flop.

If it only sells on par with 1-2 Switch then I'll be able to fully call it a flop. If it sells more than that, hmm... maybe then it'll be a semi-flop.

Well ok then. 200k is a flop? If this game ends up selling anywhere between 250k-400k its nowhere near a flop. Itll still be one of the best fighting games in sales in japan. Not to mention not that many games get that high anyway

Edit: seems as though splat2 messed up peoples expectations on calling a game a flop. Its following the same business strategy sure but not ever game has to be some miracle hit. Splatoon as a franchise wont be seen again (replica success) in years. Only YW pulled the same feat in the last 5 or so years

200k would be a flop, barring your downplayed expectations. I'm not basing anything off of Splatoon 2, as that would be ridiculous. However, to say 200k is successful is laughable; Nintendo should be able to push a game better than that, especially on a hot platform.

Now, ARMS may totally end up being a success in the West, which would make the game overall successful, but still a flop in Japan none-the-less.
