Points/sales ratio when DQVIII and DQXI were released have nothing to do with today's ratio. They were more inflated in the past, especially PlayStation platforms. Any comparison long back on that time is completely misleading. That's why I said before to compare with Pokemon Sun/Moon and Monster Hunter Generations. Because even they're different series, they are big games released the last two years, so the ratio shouldn't be that different.
