Now that i think about it, whats going on with RE7? (Overall game/etc)

What was RE5 and RE6 FW and ltd if you dont mind me asking. Was it RE6 that was one of the 2 ps3 million sellers?

RE7 is a bit fucked compared to the previous entries. :P

The Japanese sales-tracking service Media Create shows the PlayStation 3 version of RE6 selling 634,933 and 92,921 in its first two weeks of sale, for a total of 727,854 copies sold.

Media Create archives maintained by a user on the gaming message board NeoGAF put the PS3 version of 2009's Resident Evil 5 at 319,000 and 61,483 for a total of 380,483 in its first two weeks of sales.

Let's forget about RE6. Let's try to compare with RE5 (~320k FW), it was released on PS3 when the fanbase was only 2,894,264 units. So the current fanbase of PS4 is higher. Still, it won't even reach this numbers.

Capcom isn't expecting as much from RE7 with the lower focus they are putting on it. It would be nice if the horror aspect made it outsell the action like game of RE6. But even worldwide RE7 will probably be down on RE6.

IIRC RE6 sold ~5m in the Quarter it released, but Capcom expected to ship 7m at first.

Now Capcom only expects to ship 4m for RE7. So don't expect RE7 to come close to RE6, when the company itself doesn't.

I thought the 4 million figure is what they want to sell on day 1?

Looks like it could be joining yokai watch, dragon quest monsters and final fantasy.

DQ was a spin off. The real DQ will be one of the huge franchises with no decline (maybe even go up?)

FF is explained so many times no need to go over it again.

As for RE i didnt follow RE7 and didnt play RE6 (played 0-5 though), but this decline will be notable. Maybe if the game is good itll have legs. I dont think RE suffers from front loaded sales as FF (japan).
