This is exactly what I was going to say.
It's not going to catch up to MHP3 but it is doing much better than MHP3's final days.
If it stays at pace, it will clear 4,000 which is higher than most people have been expecting lately. It cleared 3,000 only 8 days ago. It took MHP3 24 days to claim its final thousand.

I don't think MH4 will clear 4,000, but 3,900 is possible, and 900 units in 8 days vs. 1,000 units in 24 days is impressive.

might actually get it earlier like Mon or Tuesday. Capcom going to brag "1.5mil sold in 2 Days". Any major game like that will have bragging rights!

True, but I'm just telling myself wednesday. I don't want to get my hopes up for earlier, and I'm more interested in the push in hardware. 3DS fell behing YoY because of the 3DS XL intro last year. Just before it was introduced 3DS was on par with 2012, and doing better in the 2nd wuarter. I'm hoping MH4 and Pokemon push hardware more then the 3DS XL did, which I think it will, at least for the Holidays.
