Seems strange that they would advertise DQVIII on the old 3DS XL, since the New 3DS has been out for almost a whole year there.

I wouldn't assume 600k. While 600k FW wouldn't be a big surprise or anything, I can't imagine this is a remake that many were asking for unlike DQ7.

Advertising is quite big in Japan. I wouldn't be surprised if it sells over 600k. I understand why YSO predictions are so high.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. Yeah, I'm worried about it too.

Still, remember, Falcom games don't exactly get good points: sales ratios on COMG:

Ys: Memories of Celceta = 1: > 1576 (game didn't chart)

Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki = 1: > 2671 (game didn't chart)

Legend of Heroes: Sen no Kiseki 2 = 1: 1179

As well, remember that Falcom games don't sell a whole lot in general.  I think the results for the Legend of Heroes series are the exception, rather than the rule.  41k FW for Ys is more the usual kind of sales for a Falcom series - I think Tokyo Xanadu will be more in this ballpark.
