Being multiplat is a reason why it's less hyped, as everyone can play it.
Seriously, it should have sticked exclusive, no matter what some say, exclusivity is a great thing in a lot of cases, like this, with a new gen, a game that would be a new gen showcase people would talk about is a game spread to 5 platforms, even crossgen, while all other MGS games were exclusive at launch and a great showcase to the system (not that MGS 5 is not to the PS4, but then there is also the other versions).
Also, Japan is seriously lower than it was in 2008, and MGS is already getting old, a lot though it would end on 3, then 4 came and they got happy, but then came 5 now too, maybe it's hitting saturation, even as it's a good step ahead in the franchise.
Well, PS4 games usually do better than the COMG average, and PS4 is the leading platform so it might sell more than what its points will hint.
Oh and I don't know how the japanese are about the Konami/Kojima situation, I dunno if it's a matter there but I know the japanese are a very respectul and loyal people, so it might be affecting some.

I agree with you about exclusivity, there are a lot of benefits also. Even if successfull exclusive series going multiplatform could gain some sales in short-term, it could also do damage in long-term. Going multiplatform divides userbase and looking at Nintendo/Pokemon and Level5/Yokai, they know exclusivity creates strong community. Thinking every 3rd party game should be made multiplatform is imo selfish and narrow minded usually portraited in perspective of gamer and his needs and his alone.
MGS2 and MGS4 definitely were showcases. MGSV is just another game on PS4/X1 technically, it is not special in the same way. This could change though, especially from gameplay standpoint if Kojima manages to pull rabbit out of his hat once more. I respect 60fps a lot but in the big picture it does not matter.
But maybe this whole situation should be looked at a different light. Japanese market has "collapsed" compared to 2008 and imo has just recently started to climb back. It is easy to say that but in the end modern AAA-development budget won't allow it.
I cannot imagine toilet-free life.
Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.
