Ok here i'll give you an example, the monster hunter on psp that had 5000 points here on COMG had an OP week of 1.9mil sales, not 5mil. If you keep on doing this then wen salss show MH4 came out with 1.2mil-1.5mil sales first week then your gonna think it flopped wen it actually did very well!!! 1point does not equal 1k pre orders, its impossible EDIT: Not trying to be rude but i have to say it that way! i think it is imo, cuz there are just 9 stores in a small remote area, so 20-60 people buy from those stores(most points average that here), i can see 2555 people pre ordered MH4 cuz its that big! ⇒⇒⇒Also another hint is that every game that has the same exact points as another game never switch positions, which should mean 1point = 1pre order. I'm not arguing whether it makes sense or not. It's an assumption, and unless you find a official statement that won't change.
