And hooray for another blue! The chart should once more be quite bluish soon! |
It is very curious how Japan splits towards PS3 on these cross gen titles while the west splits towards PS4. Personally I cannot imagine playing the PS3 version after seeing how superior the PS4 one is.

Well we do have to remember the current situation in Japan, that tax hike is still causing damage to everything, so when a PS3 or even Vita version of a game is present, it would most probably beat the PS4 version, not only because in this case the PS4 version is pricier, but because they most probably not have the console, and would inquire a big cost, so they just get it for their current system, while they save up for their next system, if the game would had been exclusive the most possible is that they save up beforehand, to get said system, but if not, why rush it, when you can play in a system you already have.
The west is also more impulsive into upgrading simply because of the graphics, but Japan is one more to wait for the big hitters to come before upgrading, we saw during the N64-PS1 era that what the Japanese care of is the big hitters, wherever they go, they will follow, and while those big hitters also come to PS3, there is no real reason to upgrade, since they can get them in their already owned console, so as more big hitters come to PS4, the roles of cross-gen titles should change, and the PS3 version become the lowest, while the PS4 the highest, but while the big hitters do not come, that will not happen, though by the time they hit, Japanese devs should already know that a good number of PS3 owners will move on, and so stop doing PS3 games, because their fans have moved on to a new console.
