Forums - Gaming - Sony fans: How would you react with such a Third-Party treatment?

I would not buy any third parties games because they sux anyway. I would bitch and moan about the lack of third parties games and their lack of quality. I would create threads for port begging and not by them when they release claiming they are late port or lazy dev, hope the industry collapse so I would feel better about my console of choice.

Satirical and sarcastic yet ironic and true for most VGChartz "gamers" at the same time.

Very impressive.

Remember FFXIII?

Or when the smallest rumour of FFvsXIII for Xbox comes sporadically?

Or MH4 and "Crapcom"?

Or on a slightly unrelated note, the massive boycotting of DMC?

Honestly, few people have been totally honest in this thread. Of course many hold their convictions firmly, but others are just trying to seem above exclusivity.

Ahhh it's good to see another (and the OP at that) person who sees through all the lying toads here.

I remember all those times where "sensible" and "rational" people all lost their marbles during the FFXIII announcment.

Personally couldn't give a damn either way, have enough money to buy what I like. I have enough intelligence to have a go at anything that doesn't impress me...it's what VGChartz is all about for myself.

I buy all the systems that interest me then pirate the hell out of them...sure I'm a parasite, but at least it keeps me impartial. Being a fanboy is a worse crime than a pirate in my book. Do actually buy the odd real game mind, if they deserve it - which is hardly ever.

I wouldnt like it if PS4 got shitty ports and/or less support than other consoles.

But im also realistic. Buying a PS4 i expect it to have almost full 3rd party support. And it will have this support.

Buying a WiiU i know it wont get that same support for multiple reasons. So i will expect to not get that support with that particular console. I will obviously base mt decision to buy the console on this.

I think the WiiU situation is unfortunate...but its no surprise. Its a similar situation to the Wii just this time around Nintendo are not popular with the casuals.

^^^^^ Well it is really not that interesting unless you state who is being disingenuous.

I really do not feel bad for those that only buy one brand especially this gen as Andre wrote. Used consoles are cheap now. The worst part is when Ninty posters post anger about games they have no intention to buy. This happens all the time. And, the conspiracy theories on third parties against Nintendo are huge here. Aggression is high compared to GAF all around.

I don't think anyone is "guilty" of not supporting third party games on the Wii U. Wii U owners generally arent interested in those games.

Also i don't see a major issue with the ports other than the fact that they are old games? The ports themselves are not that bad. I mean PS3/360/wii all got its fair share of bad ports but in certain cases the games still sell. Bayonetta and GTA4 sold well on PS3 and they got really bad ports. The old ports were always going to happen too...i mean a new console releases with Nintendo pushing for 3rd party support...obviously 3rd party devs are going to port old popular games.

But i dont think any of this is the major issue here. The major issue is the demographic of Wii U owners.

Last thing

@morenoingrato Did you make this thread out of some type of anger and are looking for a possible reason to be mad at Sony fans? Or are you contemplating selling your console for a different one?

Why does it have to be that he's mad at something or somebody? It's a hypothetical situation.

OT: I wonder how calm, cool, and collected members would be if this actually happened (to the PS4.) I doubt as much.

But thats the problem...this wouldnt happen to PS4.  I mean even the PS3 got support despite not selling that great.

Its all about the gamers, and what games they actually buy. 3rd parties knew, back when the ps3 wasnt selling well, that even though the sales are bad the gamers on the console are pretty similar to 360 owners. So they catered for these gamers, and the game sales show it.

To me this is just a matter of a different group or type of gamer that have different tastes.

I would switch to a different console. Simple as that.

Well, we can all go around saying that until something actually happens. But that wasn't my point. My point was that if this did happen, there would surely be as big of a storm that Nintendo fans have thrown or maybe even bigger. Who knows.

Yeah but under what circumstances would this happen to the PS4? I think we need to be more specific here about what actually did "happen" to Nintendo.

I mean if third parties just randonly decided to not support ps4 for no reason at all then hell yes everybody should get crazy mad. But thats not the case with the Wii U and it wasnt the case with the Wii.

Also, nintendo purposefully marketed itself specifically to certain demographics this gen with the Wii, which automatically isolated the majority of the games 3rd parties are creating. Nintendo kinda went and did its own thing and that worked out well for them with the Wii. But with the WiiU its like even Nintendo arent sure who their target market is...and thats adding to the problem.

Nintendo are trying to target almost every demographic with the Wii U. (Casual/"Hardcore") Which won't happen, but they do have a target.

We aren't talking about the Wii anymore. The Wii U is meant to be a crowd pleaser. I don't know why third parties aren't being absolute with everything they release, but they aren't. And that's not Nintendo's fault this time. (I'm talking about unfair releases, not supported titles, etc. Not the fact of "next-gen" support because I know what the reason is for a drop in that.)
