Man, I thought this thread was about Jade Raymond.

Me too.

I guess the way the media pushed her front & centre during the original Assassin's Creed stuck with me!

What the...!?

So, Ubisoft goes and buys his new studio and game just to what, fire him after a couple of months? What's going on? Is it something like, "You left us the last time, now it's payback time and we fire you, ha!"?

At least they could have waited until the game was finished, just to be sure that the game ends up being what it should.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

sounds like he might be under suspicion of industrial espionage

Its sad to see Ubi soft go this low. I actually had some respect for them...

Yeah, they've improved their image in last few years a lot, but they are just as assholes as anybody else - don't forget that Gameloft is owned by one of two Ubisoft brothers, and Gameloft is pretty much considered a sweatshop - so, to be honest, I'm not really expecting Ubi to be actually nice, except as much as they have to cause of a public opinions and such.

Perhaps Ubisoft had just cause. Sounds like he didn't want to compromise with his new / old employers and so they remove him so they can manage their studio/game (they own it, not Desilits) they way they feel is best.

Desilits might have been morally in the right here (or not), but business is business.

Finally.. Those Desmond sections are a crime to humanity... He should have been fired for that much sooner

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Trouble in paradise. It's the Infinity Ward/Actvision thing all over again.
Probably overworked and underpayed.

I just had visions of the quote from post-Bushnell Atari, where the president/CEO of Atari at the time called his game designers, "towel designers"

However, Kassar's response was less than what they were hoping for.

"They wrote a letter to Ray Kassar saying 'give us a share, give us a fair share'... they wanted a cut a royalty program or something. Ray wrote back this letter that basically dismissed them entirely, including one phrase that specifically said 'you're nothing but a bunch of towel designers, you're a dime a dozen.
