Forums - Gaming - Ubisoft Fires Assassin's Creed Creator, Updated: Another AC Dev Fired from Ubisoft

So, just saw this news, what are your opinions?

"Contrary to any statements made earlier today, this morning I was terminated by Ubisoft," Desilets said. "I was notified of this termination in person, handed a termination notice and was unceremoniously escorted out of the building by two guards without being able to say goodbye to my team or collect my personal belongings. This was not my decision. Ubisoft's actions are baseless and without merit. I intend to fight Ubisoft vigorously for my rights, for my team and for my game."

Updated:

Ex-Assassin’s Creed production manager Jean-Francois Boivin has reportedly been fired from Ubisoft.

"The news comes via the Twitter account of Assassin’s Creed creator Patrice Desilets, who was let go from Ubisoft yesterday. “Thinking of my good friend and producer @JFBoivin who also got fired yesterday. I'm sharing your support with him,” Desilets wrote."

He comes from the same situation as the previous guy.

Maybe he was under some NDA and had broken it?

Honestly there is a lack on info on them matter. All it saids in the article is that he left for thq, then came back beacuse ubisoft aquired thq montreal, and finally he is fired again. This seems kind of weird overall.

Saw this a minute ago as well, quite interesting. I'm curious as to what exactly went down. Perhaps some bad blood on both sides from the previous working relationship, and it translated into dead end negotiations in regards to whatever project that Montreal studio is working on. Idk, just guessing really

He probably disagreed with future plans for a monthly release of a Assassin's Creed game.

You mean yearly?

Why didn't they pay him to keep his mouth shut? That's what usually happens with executive "leaving to spend more time with his family" situations.

They already do that

Its sad to see Ubi soft go this low. I actually had some respect for them and i thought they were thrilled to get Desilets back. This guy created the team and the game from scratch and Ubi soft just went in and stole his work. That is not ok at all.

Man, I thought this thread was about Jade Raymond.
