Forums - General - nexus 4 vs iphone 5 which is the best??

IPhone

Neither, because their screens and size are too big. I don't understand the trend honestly.

alright thx guys, after checking the comparisons, I told her to get the nexus 4 mainly because of the battery life and the fact that you can replace it easily also because of the faster cpu so apps would run smoother I guess, but since I know her she'll probably get the iphone 5 because it look better, in the end she'll probably get similar value out of it

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Whatever is cheapest.

Honestly there's really nothing in it App or performance-wise or in the general experience of the OSs. Anyone who tells you different merely has a pseudo-religious devotion to an electronic device. And why would you listen to anyone who worships a phone, or a phone OS? It's as bad as worshiping a console...

Personally I'm an ABA (Anything But Apple) because of the cult of Apple. But if the cult of Apple doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth then the iPhone is a very good device, just like all the other high end smartphones.

What do you do when you have a genuinely objective choice between high quality devices? You make a cost-benefit analysis and go with the one that comes out best on that. I don't know anything about 4 (or 3.9)G LTE so that could be quite a big deal and could make all the difference in terms of choice. But iPhone 5 isn't the only 4G LTE phone available, so why has the choice come down to a 4G iPhone and a non-4G Nexus?

What bothers me the most with Android is how the performance of the phones suffer after a while. Unless you basically keep it as close as possible to what it was when you first purchased it. While the iPhone runs butter smooth at all time no matter what. At least, from my experience with both formats.

Interesting. I never load phones up with lots of Apps so I can't comment either way. But time, of itself, hasn't caused any degradation in performance.

I didn't mean it as in "after you've had it for some time"... I meant once you've installed stuff on it. I thought my second sentence made that clear...

I should have worded that better. -__-

I've had the nexus for a few months...I liked it at first but the battery life was and still is the absolute worst I've ever seen. Half a day's worth on medium brightness and medium phone usage if your lucky.

The Nexus 4 is far superior in terms of hardware and a lot cheaper. But the iPhone 5 is better in almost every other aspect. That said, for the price of an iPhone, you get much better devices like the Sony Xperia Z or HTC One. Personally, even if I wanted an iPhone, I would wait for the iPhone 5S which should come pretty soon.

All phones have Pro's and Cons.

iPhone
* Old and Outdated user interface which is relatively clunky by modern standards.
* Phones get slower with each iterative iOS release. (Ask any iPhone 3 user on how fast their phone is!)
* Can't replace the battery. (Lithium-ion batteries don't last forever!)
* No USB/HDMI, MicroSD you name it, you need adapters for all that crap and who carries them everywhere?

Windows Phone
* Lack of Apps and high-end hardware.

Android
* Fragmented, slows down with more Apps/Services, not guaranteed to get OS updates.

Pros
iPhone
* Great for simpletons and for those who don't know anything about technology.

Windows Phone
* Most fluid interface ever, doesn't bog down with iterative updates or apps.

Android
* Choice of handsets and manufacturers, hence generally the best hardware available.
* Open Ecosystem.

If you're dead set on Android but want the build quality of an iPhone, go for the HTC One, amazing piece of kit.

What a closed minded biased look at the pros for each.

How so? Just because you don't like someone elses opinion? And that anyone elses that disagree's with your own is automagically biased?

I mean, do elaborate instead of posting a completely pointless 1 liner.
