Not so much off screen on its own, but when playing local multiplayer.

e.g. Much more fun playing COD that way, and is more competitive then people "peaking" on your side.

it is fun, especially when your clsoe friends can't afford consoles, so you can jsut invite them over for some local multiplayer.

I don't own a wii-u yet, but there are 2 reasons I want one. reason 1: Nintendo games. I'm going to want the next smash bros., Zelda, and Metroid. Hopefully there are some more games to interest me because I won't justify buying the wii-u on 3 games alone. Got a little burned on the wii in that respect. Reason 2: innovation. I love the idea of asymmetric gameplay. I think there is a lot of potential there in the realm of new gameplay experiences. However, I haven't really seen any yet. I also do like the idea of not pausing for inventory, and the game staying alive while you're looking into a backpack like in zombieu. That's intense!

See, there really isn't "one" particular thing that's my favorite, it's a combination of a few things as well. Now that the spring update came, the overall performance boost is something to actually brag about and with another summer update on the way, it should be even faster than what it is now, which is pretty damn fast. I really like how simplistic the and convenient the OS is and as you mentioned, the web browser is pretty freakin fast too. What I really like about the Wii U is that your able to use the web browser on the fly while playing games or using an app, which is really helpful. The touch screen controls are great and the Rayman Legends app proves its worth, I can't wait for the game to come out, and am scratching my head trying to figure out how PS3/360 owners will enjoy a game like this without all the touchscreen and second screen features... Nintendo games in HD is a no brainer but what I'm really looking forward to is for Bayonetta 2! Off screen play is cool but not too necessary however, off screen play for the classics seems cool! MH3 proves that a second screen is more convenient than necessary but I really do enjoy having a second screen. The more Nintendo updates the Wii U and the more games that come out, the more I start understanding its value. I've actually started using the Wii U as my main media hub for Netflix, and Hulu and as Nintendo TVii grows, I'm sure that it could become my everything system. I think that a lot of people need to own the system in order to fully understand its value and I think that Nintendo is going to have a hard time trying to explain its value, without people actually owning one. This will be Nintendo's biggest challenge...


Yea it's not really fair to say one's the favorite but it's a great way to start conversation.  Like you said, it's damn near impossible to understand it's value without owning one.  I agree that's a huge challenge.  I think conversations like this helps out.  Hopefully a few fence sitters peeked into some owner's perspectives.  Any ways lots of good points in your post.

 

Ps.  That wasn't me in the split screen image  My friends and I weren't that cool  :).
