I plan to get a Wii U down the line, but before X, SMT x FE and Bayonetta 2 come out i dont think i will.

X is my most anticipated upcoming home console title at the moment though and i cant wait to play it though. I doubt i will see anything on the PS4 and X720 that will interest me as much.
I'm a huge Xeno fan though and i classify Xenogears as the best game i ever played.

No. This is a UK promotion... Vita is struggling every bit as much as the WiiU in the UK, perhaps more so.

I know it's a UK promotion, but why is only the Wii U getting such promotions? I guess Nintendo are desperate to get the core market back

It isn't anything to do with Nintendo, it is entirely down to the retailers. It's probably a combination of still having too much Wii U stock as well as the bank holiday.

The thing is since the 3DS the retailers set the prices and they set them way to high.

Usually retailers "win" 20% by selling stuff in case of the WiiU they wanted like 40% I am working at a retailer and I know that by selling the system for 150 pounds we still make money.

How do I know that we still make money? Because if we wouldn't then the thing would be blacklisted for our discount as employees.

But I can still get a 10% discount if I would want a second WiiU.....

I went to my local Asda yesterday and they don't even stock it or its games. They still have a small selection of Vita games among the PS3 section. My local Sainsburys doesn't stock Vita or Wii U, same with Tescos. Tesco had all of 6 3DS games on display.

That's a bad sign for gaming in general. I don't want to see Nintendo failing like they did with N64 and Gamecube (saleswise).

It's too late for Vita. No amount of promotions will make an impact. 
Wii U is still in its early months. Retailer are probably hoping these deals can sway those that are on the fence.
