To be fair this is just an ASDA promotion, nobody else has it.

But it not a good sign that is for sure.

You mean "not a good sign" from a financial point of view? Because surely it's a good sign in the eyes of consumers.

Do you think it would be a bad move by Nintendo to drop the price ww?

Not enough. Cut the price 50£ more and I might consider. Cut the cheaper model to 99€ and I will buy it.

It seems that is just a deal of a particular retailer.
Overall, the WiiU is still struggling on sales. An official price cut will come eventually, but not before E3, maybe later this year, depending of what Ms and Sony announces for their next consoles.

Still to early to call WiiU a complete failure. Nintendo has a lot of lucrative IPs to keep people interested. When Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Zelda, Mario 3d, Bayonetta and whatever Retro is doing comes out, it will start to sell.

It would be a bad move to drop the price now as theres no big games coming in the near future. I could picture them doing a cut to $249.99 for the basic model and $279.99 for the deluxe around Aug/Sept when Pikmin 3/Wind Waker/Wii Fit/Wii Play come out, this could convince Nintendo fans that have been waiting to pick one up and maybe lure some casuals in as well. Then have a $299.99 Mario Kart Bundle ready in time for black friday and uve got a solid holiday period. Either that or save a price cut til the fiscal year ends, depends on if they want to move consoles or make a bigger profit.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Man does that thing need games fast.

saving for ps4 and xbox3
no money for Wii U.only interessting games for me(as for the most) will be zelda and mario3 and there a two problems.200euro/pounds/dollars is a lot of money for just 2 games.it is cheaper to rent the wii u and play both games.
second problem:noone cares about the tablett controller .i'm pretty sure most would like to play both games rather with the classic controller then with the tablett.
as nintendo can't create a momentum with power they need a momentum created by the tablett, but there is nothing amazing for the tablett until now.

I am saving to buy a yatch. Therefore, I don't need a WiiU.

I bought mine last week from Shopto. Premium model with the Limited edition of Lego City Undercover for £289. I was happy paying that price, £149 is a steal though!

How is that a joke? Cutting 50£ more might make me consider to buy the console (120€) and cutting it to 99€ would convince me to buy it. 100€ would not do it, there is a treshold at that 1€. :D
