The rumor was they were having low yields on the chips. The more current rumor specifically states its a heating Issue. While the heating issue could have been the reason for the low yields i guess its a more recent rumor to specifically refer to the heating Plus insiders at GAF are saying the specs right now arent clear or finalized. Im positive at this point MS reacted to Sony and has made hardware changes |
That's phenomenal if true. There is hope!
Off topic: are you enjoying Dark Arisen?

I could be wrong as I have no inside info on hardware changes. But just looking at the evidence everything is pointing towards a hardware change. No idea what specifically but the fact that this late devs still dont know the finalized is specs is pretty much proof MS is doing something
And Dark Arisen is great! Loved original Dogma and this version is even waaaaay better

So wishful thinking has now become "looking at the evidence"?
Look, harware change = 6-8 months delay, minimum (unless you add more memory or other "simple" stuff. Both consoles are supposed to come out in November this year. This means that:
a) ALL parts have been ordered months ago. All contracts were signed months ago.
b) Manufacturing of the first batch begins now. You always make an initial batch and test those before going into full production mode.
Anybody who thinks there is any major component change at this stage (because of a February event) is simply deluded.
I would like to know his industry source.
The guy must be a genius!
- He knows about MS first party lineup and production timeline (about 20 studios)
- He knows about 3rd party lineup and production timeline (hundreds of studios)
- He knows about Sony first party lineup and production timeline (about 15 studios)
- He knows about MS hardware development and deadlines (a handful of engineers)
So there you go! It is easy now, isn't it? His source is Phil Harrison. Nobody else would know so much about all this.
Phil Harrison leaked infos to Kotaku confirmed.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
No need to worry. Thanks to great 3rd party launch games like Assasins Creed 4, Watch Dogs and CoD:Ghost exclusives won't matter.

Would be no worse than the beginnings of the 360, if that's the case. |
Without beating competitor's to the market, and launching in the same holiday season, it is a problem though. The 360 got a year jump. Without that, it isn't a good thing, unless the next Microsoft console is that much different and the difference is wanted.
| VGKing said: If there's going to be another Wii U-like situation, why not delay the launch until March? Its better than launching an unfinished product that requires tons of firmware updates to be complete and false promises of launch window games. |
How is launch a console during non-season buying time work for it? You miss this window and come in months behind.
| arcane_chaos said: MS just needs to slow down, regroup, and find a pace that fits them. they do not have to release their console in the exact time frame as the PS4 to beat it or to be successful. |
Pace that fits is what the makret demands, not what they feel comfortable about. Market pressures mean you do things. You aren't free to work as you choose.

Its not wishful thinking as I couldnt give a shit how powerful it is. I just care if its games are good or not.
So go ahead and explain to me why developers this close to launch still dont know finalized specs. And you are aware that weve been hearing since January of this year that the old specs that were leaked werent finalized and were outdated correct?
Sounds to me like someone is hoping the rumored specs were true
