Forums - Sales - Japan sales: Famitsu, Media Create & Dengeki - Week 17 ( Apr 22 - Apr 28 )

Kind of an eventful week.

- 360 software in but the system's still a zombie --> MS can already give up about nextbox in Japan
- Photokano sustains the Vita pretty well
- Bioshock bomba
- Mugen Souls bomba (kinda sad, it looks like way better than the 1st one)
- Tomb Raider bomba and digs SE's losses further (serve them right
- big differences between Famitsu and MC
- Vita lives!

Around the Network

Vita actually went up this week. Nice. It'll be up a lot next week due to Golden Week or whatever its called.

I can see this becoming the next PSP in Japan.

Only with a MH game (or games) I think.

Arguably even with that it's too late. It'd need an exclusive as big as Monster Hunter, but not Monster Hunter, which can go toe-to-toe with Pokemon. The only possibility is DQXI that I can think of, but that seems highly unlikely.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Damn it Vita why are your weekly sales not going down! You should be at 10k by now (according the the consensus here at VGC)

Stop being hindered by events we know do not sell consoles...like new game releases and holidays.

Badgenome - "Vita could be better."

OT: The 3DS' software really is legging out nicely. I wonder how long (or if) Luigi's Mansion 2 will take to get to 1 Million units sold. It's certainly showing to be a good seller. Tomodachi is also adding on nicely. I wonder how it's doing compared to it's older brother, though.

It's actually the best debut so far for the series.  Both for a single SKU, and combined.

It'll get a breakout hit eventually. Something new always comes with each gen.

It doesn't change the fact it's low for such a high-profile game. Major western games usually do better than that.

That's not very fair considering the game should be compared with things are relative to itself. Which is why I think it sold decently and should surpass all previous Bioshock lifetimes in Japan.

Yayyyy Dengeki.

Although, it's just made things more confusing. Vita HW very close to Famitsu's number; software like Photo Kano very close to Media Create's number.

Anyway, it's the bottom half that's more interesting. And there's all the games with legs, like MonHun; Mario & Layton.

And all the Vita & Wii-U stuff. One Piece Vita passed 100k!

I wonder why Fantasy Life never really took off like Animal Crossing/Tomodachi have. I mean, it's doing really well, but those two have been beasting and in comparison it's a bit more meh.
