Forums - Gaming - The extreme negativity towards the Next Xbox is ridiculous and unfounded

Is the anti - Nextbox sentiment on the Internet ridiculous?

Yes, MS has yet to even a... 154 42.42%

Maybe 60 16.53%

No it is completely deserved 147 40.50%

Total:361

It gets bad press because people fear the negative rumors, if MS just remain silent on the issues instead of rebutting them, its just gonna keep getting more negative press.

MS have no one to blame but themselves, there not managing this launch well at all, i know they want to save all there cards for there official reveal, but with so much bad press they need to be putting people fears to rest if they can, otherwise even a really good reveal might not overturn the public's negative perceptions so far.

If a rumor pops up saying that the new Xbox is made of puppies and kittens, people would actually believe it and bash the console based on that.

puppies and kittens are for casuals!  Also they're extremely easy to break I mean you don't feed them for a couple days and bam!  Hopefully MS pays for all their life insurances

It is completely deserved. These rumors that are going around are horrible and very anti-consumer.
Hopefully Microsoft doesn't go through with these rumored plans. Hopefully they focus on the hardcore gamers which will be dishing out $500 for this thing this holiday.

Yeah. A whole lot of hate and negativity because of rumors is deserved.

I been telling people rumors like this are stupid...and now look how its affecting Gamestop...
I think at the worst this would act as a sort of "online pass" blocking content on the disc if you buy used, with the option to unlock the full game. It would essentially turn used games into no more than demos. This would actually be a good idea as it would lower the price of used games so people would be able to try more games

The irony is here. When the PS4 rumors were going round then "rumors like this are stupid" and it could be turned into a "good idea". Now youre saying the hate on Microsoft is completely deserved because of rumors.

You need to give your head a shake.

You might want to check your link. I dont' know what you're referring too :D

Haha! Someone told me you changed it but I didnt actually expect you to. The fact you had to go edit your comment speaks volumes.

Caught. Hook, line, sinker.

Seems like editing is one of his "skills" when he even recommends it to other users.

Why would MS offer a rebuttal to unfounded issues mostly backed by Sony fans and impatient press?

Why would an army reveal their top-secret weapon before trump it in battle? Does it make sense?

Patience is not a virtue for a small number of Xbox users and hate is all the competition have. Both of these guys need to get a grip of themselves.

Because its a business not an army, and massive amounts of negative press isnt good for the next flag ship product, im not saying they should reveal things, just debunk all the negative stuff if  they can.

Still im sure they have thought about it themselves and for whatever reason they would still rather wait till the 21st to say anything.

Also among my friends its not just "sony fans", its also alot of angry xbox fans that hope these rumours arent true.

If all the information coming in (rumor or not) is negative, then discussions will of course be in a negative manner. Vice versa if positive information rolls in.

Only rumor that has really concerned me was when it was rumored about games being installed onto the HDD and then the disc not being used. Made me worry about resale options and was hoping it was activation code based with the ability to de-activate everything when it comes time for resale.

Other than that, none of them are a big issue, so I do not discuss anything pertaining to them. However, everyone is different and other people have different opinions on the other "negative" rumors.

It's playing out right now as one would expect based on the information fed to us so far. I see no big deal. Come May 21st the truth will be laid out and the tone of discussion might take a much more positive turn overall.

Perception is reality. So just sit back, join the discussions if you wish, and if not then just wait for all the cards to be laid out on the table. Depending on what happens peoples perceptions may change and the new discussion environment might be more of your preference.

People can't keep getting upset because someone else doesn't like something. What's fine for you might not be fine for them. All discussions are going to come with disagreements and views that differ from yours.

Hey, for all you know in 3 weeks you might be watching an entertaining feast of crow.

*typed that up real quick, not even sure if what I said makes sense, lol. In a rush at work, so forgive me.

Changed what? What are you talking about? You link to one of my blank months old comment and accuse me of editing it. Wow.

Apparently, its ok for Sony to pay for 3rd party games as well as exclusive content, but not Microsoft.

Idk how many of you read GAF but this reminds me of when someone called out Amir0x for past posting behavior and he went back and edited a bunch of his posts to cover it up. Sad.
