Forums - Nintendo - Will Resident Evil Revelations pass a million?

When it was released the 3ds had about half of the install base it has today, that´s why it didn´t reach 1 million.

Capcom said they were fine with its sales ( 700k by now), but it does seems that they expected a little better, something similar to MH3G sales.

Now, I´m sure that the Ps3 and Xbox360 versions will reach 1 million. Maybe that will help people remember the original version and it will get a little boost on sales too.

I don't think it will make it, which is a real shame. It's the best game I've played so far on 3DS.

I think it will finish around .85 million.

It must be relatively close with digital sales. The game is on the eshop for 30 euros i think. Lifetime it will most certainly sell 1 mil.

With that said, it might sell more on consoles.

Yeah, too bad it didn't reach the million barrier. Best game of 2012 easily. However, it still is the best selling handheld Resident Evil game of all time, so that's gotta count for something!

If it wasn't for the ports, I think it would've made it right at the end of 3DS lifetime. Now, I don't think it will anymore. Don't know about the digital sales, but it's not a new game anymore and I don't think they'll be high enough to help much. The PS3 version will sell over a million, the 360 version maybe and RE games always sell decently on Nintendo, so I think the WiiU version could do decently as well, but wont reach a million of course.

I just hope we get a sequel, it deserves it and is the best Resident Evil in a long time

The game is excellent, although there's still a little too much ammo lying around for my liking. Resident Evil games used to be all about having limited resources when the franchise first started. Still, they've got the hard difficulty level unlocked right from the start this time so the game is going to be a bit of a challenge.

I'm also hoping that the game is going to feature some sort of log for the Genesis Scanner, they obviously didn't have enough room on the cart to include it for the 3DS SKU.

I'm definitely going to double dip on this though.

maybe lifetime due to digital sales, but I can't wait to get it on my Wii U.

It does, sequel would be a day 1 buy for sure .

eshop and word of mouth might get it to 1m - time will tell

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Including console and digital sales, I can imagine 2 million. On the 3DS alone, 1 million is still entirely possible.
