Forums - Sales - Will the PS4 outsell the XBox One and WiiU?

I honestly don't think any of the new system are going to sell well.

Less than this GEN I just don't think the interest in gaming is there anymore.

ya i think it will regress back to 6th gen sales so about 200m by 2020 instead of 255m and counting.

The interest is still there, it's just that the vast majority of people haven't got the money to spend. Price is going to be key to whether the PS4 and the One can catch up with the installed userbase of the Wii U or eventually beat those numbers. I just can't see either one of them retailing for less than $400 let alone hitting that 'sweet spot' of $299.99.

If Nintendo cut the price of the Wii U by $50 before Chrimbo things could get VERY interesting, the Wii U should be profitable after a year on the market because they were said to be making a small loss at launch.

The likes of Zavvi/The Hut have started to take pre-orders for £399.99 but I can see that price going up to £449.99/$499.99 by the time it's released.

This topic is wee bit early me thinks give the New consoles at least a year together on the market say holiday 2014 before we start calling winners.

I think MS will outsell the others.. they are the only one broading out to other target audiences.. it has been pretty clear that the gaming market isn't a viable one with a too few gamers not buying enough games to keep the market healthy.. because of the xbox one strategy it's in a better position.. and like we did before with: "the ps3 is only bought as a bluray player" the xbox one will be bought by people who only want the tv servics.. but since the market MS is also targeting is way larger then the gaming market they have a good chance to outsell they others

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I am so looking forward to the console sales wars next generation. I live and breathe the console sales wars and my money is on the PS4 to convincingly outsell its competitors. The recent news of XBox One has lead to me revising my figures to reflect the fact the XBox One will finish in third place as consumers from 7th generation purchase more PS4s instead of XBox Ones. It will be the first time since the 3rd or 4th generation when the most powerful systems NES and SNES outsold their competitors in the console sales wars.

Microsoft has dropped the ball by forcing consumers to connect XBox One to be connected online and used games will not be allowable on the XBox One. Both PS4 and Wii U offer consumers more choice than XBox One. Corporations should not be forcing people to have their console online or banning used games.

There was a 90% chance I was buying a PS4 instead of an XBox One. With the bad news and rumours confirmed by MS I am 100% buying a PS4 instead of XBox One. How dare Microsoft force gamers to be connected online, ban online and offering a console with less than half the power of the PS4. Fact: 8GB DDR5 is more than double the power of an underpowered 8GB DDR5. Microsoft is a vile  corporate bully that does not care about customer satisfaction or offering consumers choice. Both Nintendo and Sony deliver upon customer satisfaction and delivering consumers more choice.

Jesus Christ anyone who supports the Nextbox pisses me off, how could you support something that slaps the consumer in the face so badly?

No Internet and cable provider acting up? LOL Go back to Sega Genesis NOOB!

Seriously, what the fuck

After seeing what Microsoft is going for with the Xbox1, I can't fathom them hitting 399 even.  I honestly will own all 3 eventually, but I can see myself buying a Wii u (cheaper) and Xbox1 (TV functionality that pays for itself) sooner than later if it all pans out.  Ps4 might have to wait a year until the library builds up and a price cut.

Then again, if they could get Time Warner Cable to remove that supid eqipment rental fee for 7-10 bucks on my monthly bill.... lol.  And no I'm not kidding.
