Forums - Microsoft - Here Comes the Next Xbox

$500 for the premium "pro" model.

$300 for the base "arcade" model that will also include a 2yr contract.

That's what I'm calling right now.

um actually the 300 dollar subscription model is better than the 500 model...basically looks like you adds up to 540 vs 500 and Xbox live is 60 yearly which would be 120+500 vs 300+240 no way i believe Microsoft would do this

Kokatu....

Sorry, no offense to you person that posted it but this is just pure guesswork and it shows like a sore thumb. Most of the statements are just educated guesses given information known already or completely made up background that can't be proven either way if it was even true, For example the media only Xbox without gaming abilities, that's just a big pile of steaming turd of a statement. Where's the source for this? Where's the proof? We likely will never see it because it likely never existed.

Don't even get me started on the "least obvious" of things being that the new reveal date was made public on the date the original reveal was scheduled! That's the first damn thing that went through everyone's mind when they read about it.

Cringing trying to take this numptee seriously.

"Internet-connected. The next Xbox must be internet-connected to use. This is source of the “always on”/“always online” rumors and isn’t as Draconian as many seem to believe."

*SIGH* If the next Xbox needs to be internet connected to be used, yes it is "draconian". Can't wait till May 21st to clear this shit up.

Even if always online isn't bad for most users I can bet you it will lose them sales. Sony and Nintendo will harp on it and the press will harp on it. It will be misunderstood by many consumers as far worse than it actually is.

That being said I don't think it will be always on/connected.

Can't think that many people in the real world actually give a damn to be honest either way.

It's a good talking point on forums and would put off some, like myself. But in the real world...think they'll just see it as more of annoyance.

Id it really though? I mean...really?

Or is it just a really nice juicy negative to pipe on about over and over again?

It's certainly not good, but it's likely a deal breaker only for the technically informed and people who weren't going to buy it anyway.

I don't know when I'm playing online and hear people on their mics or on facebook IGN stories and a lot say something like "it's always on no way I'm getting that" or always on is the same thing as no used games to them which is an even bigger deal.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
